REGINE & OGIE: YES, THEY'RE PREGNANT
MANILA, APRIL 18, 2011 (MALAYA) Regine Velasquez – and husband Ogie Alcasid – happily broke the news that they are infanticipating in yesterday's "Party Pilipinas," ending weeks of speculation following her decision to stop appearing in the Kapuso primetime show, "I Heart You, Pare."
Regine, who is turning 41 on April 22, calls it her "best birthday gift." The couple, who wed December 22 last year, has been very vocal about wanting to have a baby. And four months after their altar date, Regine has revealed she is almost in her second month of pregnancy.
In the live phone patch in "Party Pilipinas," Regine said she is having a not-so-easy first trimester, prompting her to quit "Pare" and "Party Pilipinas." She revealed she is quite convinced she is carrying a boy, who most likely will be named after his dad, Ogie, whose real name is Herminio.
Aside from finding Ogie extra irresistible ("Gwapung-gwapo ako sa asawa ko," she said with a laugh.), Regine said she likes looking at Kapuso heartthrobs Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes. "Nagpahingi pa nga ako ng picture eh," she said.
Meanwhile, Ogie revealed that Regine has had weird cravings. He said his wife one time asked for burger – a request he thought he could easily grant. But his preggy wife was adamant that he get the burger from a 5-star hotel.
Regine and Ogie's bundle of joy is expected to arrive by end of November or early December.
