DIETHER DOESN'T DISCOUNT DEEPER RELATIONSHIP WITH KRIS

MANILA, APRIL 18, 2011 (MALAYA) ETHEL RAMOS ('At the birthday of his son, Dream, the single dad revealed that he foresees something deeper to surface in his relationship with Kris.')

Although they were engaged for a long time, this seasoned actress and her husband, a TV personality, still took their time before finally marching down the aisle.

How sad to hear, therefore, that after having been married for more than 10 years, reports are rife that they have called it quits. To top it all, he – yes, he – is said to be in love with another woman.

People who know about their break-up said this is the reason the actress is keeping herself busy with work. She does TV series one after another.

The secret's out. While Kris Aquino insists there's nothing serious yet about their relationship, Diether Ocampo thinks otherwise.

At the birthday of his son, Dream, the single dad revealed that he foresees something deeper to surface in his relationship with Kris.

Kris, in an interview, admits that she enjoys Diether's company. She appreciates that he makes himself available whenever she requests him to accompany her wherever.

Their closeness – as friends, Kris insists – started when they did the movie, "Dalaw." The film was a 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival entry and was named third top grosser of the 10 entries.

Kim Chui was almost unable to leave with her fellow Star Magic talents for abroad for a series of concerts in California and New York.

She was already at the airport when a bunch of fans requested for a photo with the young star.

Kim obliged.

She later recalled that someone from the group situated himself (or was it herself?) very close to the side where she had her bag.

It was too late when she discovered that her wallet and passport were missing. She suddenly realized that she was victimized by pickpockets who posed as her fans.

She related that it was good she was able to seek the help of her Ate Kris (Aquino) who immediately requested airport authorities to help Kim recover her passport.

The document was later found in a trash bin.

"Obviously," said Kim, "itinapon ng kumuha nang makita niyang except for passport, walang lamang pera ang wallet."

It looks like Queenie Padilla's younger sister, Kylie, will be launched to stardom before her.

After auditioning several of its young contract stars, GMA 7 has finally chosen Kylie to topbill the upcoming series, "Blusang Itim," which is the title of a movie that starred Snooky and Richard Gomez.

Queenie and Kylie started their showbiz careers with GMA 7. Last year, however, Queenie opted to turn Kapamilya.

Now a Star Magic talent, Queenie has appeared in the series, "Momay," which had child actress Xyriel Manabat playing the title role. She is also in the cast of the currently showing, "Tum, My Pledge of Love," which stars her dad, Robin Padilla and stepmom, Mariel Rodriguez. She is paired with former "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen" winner EJay Falcon in "Tum," which Robin also directs.

Robin reveals he is supporting his two daughters in all their endeavors.

Queenie and Kylie is the elder among the four children of Robin with former wife, Liezl Sicangco.

Remember the international singing group Menudo that captured the hearts of so many Filipinos years back?

Well, singer Jamie Rivera does. She started her singing career about the same year the group was enjoying immense popularity in the Philippines.

Jamie doubts she'll ever forget Menudo, not only because she was among the teeners who knew the group's songs by heart but also because her showbiz surname, Rivera, was inspired by one of the members, Charlie Rivera.

Jamie's real name is Mary Jane Cruz (now Mendoza).

In any case, while the group's names may no longer ring a bell among today's generation, Jamie is still very much around, earning the new tag "Inspirational Diva" because of her inspiring songs.

Her sixth album of inspirational songs will soon hit the market. And what makes Jamie proud of her current album is that Bishop Socrates Villegas, chairman of the Episcopal Commission for Cathechesis and Catholic Education, is endorsing it.

Some of songs in the CD are "Jubilee Song," "Heal Our Land," "Only Selfless Love," "Tanging Yaman," "Sino Ako," "Awit sa Ina ng Santo Rosario," "Tell the World of His Love," "Salve Regina" and "Stella Maris."

Star Records produced and released the album.
