(ABS-CBN) Korean celebrity Grace Lee said she is happy
that she is away from the limelight – even for just a bit – after her
much-publicized dating relationship with President Benigno Aquino III.
Lee, who has acquired a number of product endorsements after being linked to
the President, said she missed leading a life free from stalkers and paparazzi.
"I'm enjoying it. I missed it," she told ABS-CBN News.
With Lee and Aquino "just friends" now, the Korean host is now enjoying the
company of her friends and family.
She also denied rumors that she was in Boracay with a new guy during Holy
Week. "No. Hindi pa nga ako nagbe-beach eh," she said.
Although she has moved on, Lee refused to give further details as to why she
and the President stopped dating.
"No, I don't want to elaborate," she said, adding, "I think the biggest
lesson for me is, really, having the judicious sense of what not to believe."
Asked if she is willing to travel with Aquino to Korea "as friends," Lee
said: "Ay 'wag na lang siguro dahil hindi rin naman kami makakapag-ikot."
Aquino recently commented on the status of his relationship with Lee,
following reports that they have stopped seeing each other.
His short answer: "We're friends."

Now that the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona is
finally over, a "friend" of the president and radio-TV personality Grace Lee
urged other politicians Tuesday evening to "sign that waiver," referring to the
one signed by impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Lee, in a post on her Twitter account Tuesday evening said: "Impeachment
over.... Now time for the other politicians to sign that waiver... "[I] can
volunteer to bring it personally to their offices," she said.
But early replies to her tweet included those who suggested that she have her
"boyfriend" sign as well, referring to President Benigno Aquino III.
"I hope you also mean for your boyfriend to sign as well," said one.
"You can volunteer to bring one waiver to Malacañang," said another.
Earlier in the day, Corona was stripped of his post after the Senate
convicted him by a vote of 20 against three.
Corona was impeached by the House of Representatives last December for not
disclosing his assets, liabilities and net worth, including his dollar accounts.
When he appeared before the Senate impeachment court earlier this month,
Corona signed a waiver allowing scrutiny of his accounts, but initially demanded
that the 188 lawmakers who signed the impeachment complaint, along with Sen.
Franklin Drilon, sign similar waivers.
Drilon and the members of the prosecution panel refused to sign waivers,
although some members of the House of Representatives accepted the challenge.
On the other hand, Lee said she admired lead defense counsel Serafin Cuevas
for remaining "admirable and respectable."
"As I watch, I can't help but admire Atty. Cuevas. Whether for or against, he
has done well by his client, remained admirable and respectable," she said.

PNoy won't be forced to sign waiver--for now by

MANILA, Philippines - Even if it was a campaign promise, President
Aquino would not be forced to sign a waiver on his bank deposits, at least for
now.
Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said it would not be fair to
put the President in the same category as former Chief Justice Renato Corona,
echoing Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile's description of Corona's waiver and
challenge as mere "theatrics."
"Not at this time," Valte said. "'Yung tao hong inaakusahan ang naghamon to
every Tom, Dick, and Harry who would like to take him up on the challenge. Is it
fair to put the President who has not been accused of graft, who has not been
accused of dishonesty to put him in the same category as the man who was just
removed from his post?" Valte said.
She added that the President's statements of assets, liabilities, and net
worth, as well as his Cabinet's and other officials, already contain a waiver
authorizing the Ombudsman to secure from all relevant government agencies
information about an official's assets, liabilities, net worth, business
interests, and financial connections.
"There is already a waiver in the SALN that authorizes the Ombudsman to get
all the relevant information from all government offices. Under the bank secrecy
law, meron na rin pong exceptions doon that would trigger the opening of the
accounts," Valte said.
"Do we put other people in that same situation even when they are not accused
of hiding anything? The members of the cabinet have all declared their assets.
Their SALNs have been available to the public since they were sworn into
office," she added.
Valte also said that the President has no foreign currency deposits.
