JACKIE'S BF FREQUENTS 'SISID' SET

IS ZOREN Legaspi moving to TV5 for good? After "The Sisters" where he played Nadine Samonte's dad, he'll next be seen in "Glamorosa" with Lorna Tolentino and Alice Dixson as rival plastic surgeons, something like Belo vs. Calayan.
Zoren's manager, Manny Valera, wants to make it clear that Zoren is not under contract with any station. "He can appear anywhere, basta maganda ang project," he says.
Aside from being an actor, Zoren is now into his first full length film for a company called Z Creative Team after he directed an episode in the last "Shake, Rattle & Roll" flick. He himself wrote the script of his new film, "Huling Sayaw ni Salome," and he got two of Annabelle Rama's talents to star in it, JC De Vera and Michelle Madrigal in the title. He says Michelle agreed to go sexy in it. This is slated for a November release.

Jackie Rice somehow feels sad that the first soap where she played the lead role, "Sisid," is ending in a couple of weeks. "I have many pleasant memories of this show," she says. "This is where I learned to swim and dive up to 20 feet. I was really inspired to give my best and I'd like to thank Direk Ricky Davao for bringing out the best in me, gayundin ang co-stars kong nakatulong lahat sa'kin for me to be more effective in my role as the island girl who gets rich at naghihiganti as Pearl de la Vida. As Pearl, I'm the new owner ng resorts nina Bembol Roco at Alicia Mayer kaya galit na galit sila sa akin, lalo ng ipasara ko ang resorts na siya sanang venue ng kasal nina Dominic Roco at Bela Padilla. Hindi lang 'yun, pinakulong ko pa si Bembol at pinagulpi."
After "Sisid," she can spend more time with her non-showbiz boyfriend who reportedly often accompanies her on the set. "Actually, big help siya sa'kin as he drives for me, lalo na pag-uwi dahil 'di na ko makapag-drive sa pagod sa magdamagang taping. He even helps me carry my things sa set. Napakabait niya."

Pauleen Luna and Claudine Barretto guested in "Showbiz Central." Pauleen's "Eat! Bulaga" co-host Ruby Rodriguez revealed that Pauleen used to be such a big fan of Paolo Ballesteros and up to now, she's hoping that Paolo will like her. Pauleen says the first part is correct. She and Paolo belonged to the same agency and she'd get Paolo's fotos there and bring them home. "Ang pogi kasi niya," she says. "I was 13 then and he was 17. But the second part na I'm still hoping up to now, reject na 'yun."
As for Claudine, she was asked if it's true that her daughter Sabina and son Santino got jealous because of the extra attention she gave to "Iglot" child star, Milkcah Nacion. "Correct," says Claudine. "Kasi when we go shopping, binibili ko rin si Milkcah and Sabina would say, 'But she's not really your child. We are your children.' But after isama ko sila sa taping and they met Milkcah, close na sila ngayon. Talagang palitan kami ni Raymart sa pagsama sa kanila sa work kasi we're both busy now. Kung minsan, sumasama sila sa kanya sa 'Futbolilits' set at kung minsan naman, sa akin. Para ma-feel nila how much we love them."

"Eat! Bulaga" host Paolo Ballesteros looked pitiful when he was interviewed in "Showbiz Central." He became emotional and cried when he revealed that he hasn't seen his two-year-old daughter, Kiera, since the maternal grandparents are hiding the baby from him. He said his girlfriend Kaye, the baby's mom, had to go back to work in Chicago, where the baby was born, so she left the baby under the care of her parents in Baguio.
The problem is every time Paolo and his siblings try to visit her, Kaye's folks would hide Kiera. He says Kaye has agreed to give him custody of their baby but her parents continue to hide the child from him. Paolo has already asked the help of the Social Welfare Department since he is the biological dad but his efforts seemed futile so he decided to come out in the open about his problem as a dad who misses his daughter so much.

Director Gil Tejada had a very hoarse voice at the presscon of "Iglot." "Sobrang pagod sa location taping at naulanan kaya napaos ako," he says. Why was the taping of "Iglot" delayed? "Many factors and I want to stress Claudine Barretto is not one of them. Una 'yung location. We wanted sana to tape in Bicol for Mayon kaso sunod-sunod ang bagyo roon. We decided not to wait and moved to Arayat in Pampanga. Doon lumabas 'yung egg na magiging Iglot. Tapos, nahirapan din kami looking for the right girl who'd play Claudine's missing child. We tried more than 200 new child actresses and we're happy with Milkcah Nacion. She just turned 6 last July but very gifted, matalino, at mabilis maka-pick up ng kahit anong instruction. Nakikipagsabayan sa eksena kahit sa senior stars like Manay Celia Rodriguez na siyang aampon at magmamaltrato sa kanya rito. Kahit special effects lang ang kasama niya, ang galing-galing niya. She's my next bet for child stardom."
What about the creature called Iglot?
"We asked several designers para mabuo ito and ang hitsura niya is now officially patented. Iglot is a combination of live animatronics, puppetry and computer generated special effects. Sa second week siya lalabas. Sa first week kasi, we establish muna the story of the human characters kung paano inagaw si Claudine from Marvin Agustin by Luis Alandy using Patrick Garcia and Jolina Magdangal. Ninakaw nina Luis at Patrick ang baby nina Claudine and Marvin at mapupunta ito kay Manay Celia and later, kay Jolina. Inestablish ko rin na yung back story ng Iglot is from the tribe called Unggiko who can heal any kind of sickness, as seen in the series, 'Mulawin.' Bianca King makes a guest appearance here as Aviona, ang taong ibon who hides the last egg ng Unggiko inside the volcano na later on, napulot naman ni Milkcah Nacion."

Julia Montes shows much promise as a competent actress in her role as the neglected daughter who harbors deep-seated resentment against her mom (Agot Isidro) and younger sister (Kathryn Bernardo) in "Way Back Home."
"The crying scenes are hard to do kasi masakit sa dibdib kahit tapos na ang eksena," she says. How come it's so easy for her to shed tears? "Iniisip ko lang ang personal experiences ko, like my mom being a deaf mute and me growing up without my dad."
She's paired with Cesar Montano's son, Diego Loyzaga, in 'Growing Up' that airs Sunday after ASAP. "We weren't that close when we did 'Mara Clara' but now, mas nagkakilala kami and I can say we're friends na. I'm 16 and he's 17 so we more or less speak the same language. Okay siya kasi magaang katrabaho."
What if Diego would woo her even if off cam? "Ay, huwag muna. We're both so young so let's focus on our work first. Masyado pang maaga para sa ganyan."

Diego Loyzaga is happy that ABS-CBN has given him another show after he was introduced in "Mara Clara." Does he agree with Julia that it's too early for them to be on the courtship stage. "Oo naman," he says. "Maganda siya and she's attractive, but she's right, work muna. Right now, hindi ko talaga pinag-iisipan 'yung ligaw-ligaw. Trabaho muna."
Is it true he has a rift with his dad? "May konting tampuhan but we're very much in good terms now. We'll be together in the new movie he's doing. He has accepted my joining showbiz and he was even invited when I signed my contract with ABS. Basta I promised to him I won't neglect my studies and he told me to study, take workshops, so that I'll be good in what I do. The staff said may improvement naman sa acting ko since I was introduced in 'Mara Clara' when I was still very raw."

There they go again. Beauty contest fans are raising the hopes of Pinoys by saying that current contestant Shamcey Supsup is leading in the Miss Universe pageant tally in Sao Paulo, Brazil that will be held on September 12. They always do that every year for several years now but it's been fruitless so far. Last year, they were so sure of Venus Raj but she was only 4th runner-up. Still and all, we're keeping our fingers crossed for the sake of Shamcey.
