BIRTHDAY W/ INTIMATE DINNER
MANILA, AUGUST 6, 2011 (MALAYA) Malaya's well-loved entertainment
columnist Ethel Ramos, regarded as the dean of entertainment writers, celebrated
her birthday with an intimate dinner last Monday, August 1, at Annabel's along
Morato in Quezon City.
Manay Ethel, as she is fondly called in showbiz, played host to long-time
friends from showbiz and politics, such as power couples Senator Bong Revilla
and Congresswoman Lani Mercado and actor Aga Muhlach and beauty queen-host
Charlene Gonzales.
"Wala si Angel?" Aga chided the birthday girl. Like Aga, Angel
Locsin, who missed the dinner because of work, is a talent of Ethel Ramos.
Andrea Bautista Ynares, wife of Rizal Governor Jun Jun Ynares and sister of
Senator Bong, came with their adorable daughters.
Actor Phillip Salvador, sisters Mons and Berna Romulo and host Tim Yap also
greeted our Studio Whispers columnist.
Seated together were showbiz insiders Dolor Guevarra, June Rufino, Shirley
Kuan, Malou Fagar, Cornelia "Angee" Lee, Pat-P Daza, Norma Japitana and Manay
Ichu Vera Perez-Maceda who spent the night swapping off-the-record tales.
Of course, also present were colleagues from the industry, like Bulletin's
Crispina Belen and Shirley Matias-Pizarro, Philippine Star's Ricky Lo, PM and
Pilipino Star Ngayon's Salve Asis, Philippine Daily Inquirer's Marinel Cruz,
Isah Red of Manila Standard Today, Dindo Balares of Balita, Francis Simeon of
