KAPUSO STARS BANNER DAVAO'S KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL

MANILA, AUGUST 20, 2011 (BULLETIN) By CRISPINA MARTINEZ-BELEN - GMA Network brings to Davao's Kadayawan Festival "Primetime Queen" Marian Rivera and the "Pacman" himself, Manny Pacquiao among other stars.

Last Wednesday, the "Hiyas sa Kadayawan" held at the Davao City Recreation Center had Jay-R, Ana Maris Igpit and Krista Kleiner. Yesterday, at the Cinema 5 of Davao Gaisano Mall, Kapusong Dabawenyos watched documentaries from GMA News and Public Affairs with veteran broadcast journalist Maki Pulido. "Kadayawan Festival: Serbisyong Totoo Docu-Fest" also featured "Isyu Karon" documentary of GMA Davao senior correspondent John Paul Seniel.

Saturday at 2 p.m., Davao welcomes the cast of "Amaya," led by Marian with Sid Lucero, Glaiza de Castro, Rochelle Pangilinan, Mikael Daez, Roxanne Barcelo, Dion Ignacio, AJ Dee and Pancho Magno at the Rizal Park for the "Kapuso Meet and Greet at Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan."

The cast is also set to join fans at the Davao NCCC Mall at 4 p.m. for another meet-and-greet event.

New Saturday primetime program "Manny Many Prizes," hosted by pound-for-pound king and now Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao will be held at the Davao City Recreation Center.

On Sunday, the stars of "Amaya" returns for "Kapuso Pamulak Float Parade" and "Kapuso Mall Show" at Gaisano Mall.

"What makes this year's Kapuso activities extra special is the participation of GMA Films' 'Tween Academy Class of 2012' and 'Amaya' stars," says Oliver Amoroso, AVP for GMA Regional TV.

The network's participation in Davao's 2011 Kadayawan Festival will be aired via TV special on Sept. 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 n.n. in GMA regional stations in Dagupan City, Naga City, Cebu City, Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Cagayan de Oro City, Davao City, and General Santos City.

Sam signs up with Samsung

Sam Milby signed up anew with Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO).

Sam has been supporting the Samsung Genoa, Champ and Corby products. The ABS-CBN contract star has also participated in many of SEPCO's activities in 2010, and was also the official torch bearer to the first ever Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore last year.

Sam also leads "Samsung Hope," a cause-driven project that sends underprivileged children to school. He became a big part of the campaign, as he helped raise donations for his own chosen institution, World Vision.

Glenn Martin Glinoga, business unit director of hand held phones for SEPCO said, "Sam is a very relatable personality. He is also tech-savvy and knowledgeable about mobile phone technology. Sam was instrumental in Samsung's growth as the market leader in touch phones."

EK's Enchanté Broadway every weekend

Enchanted Kingdom presents "Enchanté Broadway – the Musicale" on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Eldar's Tent.

In the cast are GMA-7 contract artists Rita Iringan and Vanessa Rangadohl. Other performers are Tim Ludovica, Justin Pajutan, Lee-J Atadero, Cissy Faustino alongside EK's pool of talents Bea Mamon, Janet Lopez, Voltaire Santos, the University of Makati Choir, saxophonist Ian Jacinto and EK's COO Dr. Cynthia Mamon.

"Live musical productions are only seen in theaters and are expensive, with prohibitive ticket prices so we want to expose our EK guests to theater, where the atmosphere is not stiff," said Ms. Victoria Faustino, EK's Head for Creative Division.

Meanwhile, Mark Herras will be EK's celebrity storyteller this week.
