RACHELLE ANN GO DENIES BREAKUP WITH JOHN PRAT
MANILA, MAY 23, 2011 (MALAYA) MARIO BAUTISTA ("Once and for all, it's not true. We really don't know kung saan nanggaling 'yan. Parang they are so sure like they have confirmed it na. Tinatawanan na lang namin.")
NADINE Samonte gives an effective crackerjack performance as the scheming and villainous April in "My Lover, My Wife." GMA-7 bosses must have noticed this, so we heard she's being considered to play the lead role in "Sentenciada" that will replace "Nita Negrita." We hope she bags the role.
Nadine has already played lead before in "Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap" and "Tinik sa Dibdib" that also rated well, but after that, she played villain roles again in "My Lover" and also in "Endless Love."
"My Lover, My Wife" is ending soon (to be replaced by Jackie Rice's "Sisid") and things will really get messy since Nadine as April and Carmi Martin as her mom Charity will hold Arthur (Luis Alandy) captive in their house. Cops will investigate the whereabouts of Arthur and locate him, but April and Charity will manage to escape. April later threatens Arthur with a gun and grapples for it. Charity will get shot. Then, April tells Arthur that she's pregnant with his child. Arthur pities her, not knowing she's just lying.

AFTER trying acting in the TV show "Nita Negrita," Rachelle Ann Go now tries theater. For the first time, she got a title role in a stage show. She is now part of the hit Broadway musical "The Little Mermaid" by Atlantis Productions. Their version is based on the Disney animated cartoon, which became a play that once staged by Trumpets featuring Carol Banawa. Atlantis is really now the premiere company in the local theater scene as they are also staging Elton John's "Aida" and "In the Heights" this year, plus a repeat of the hit "Next to Normal" soon.
"I auditioned with Direk Bobby Garcia and I was so excited when I was told that I got the role," Rachel beams.
"I heard iba ang discipline sa teatro, so I really want to experience it. After seeing 'Miss Saigon,' talagang pinangarap ko to appear in a musical. As Arielle, the Little Mermaid, I'll be singing all the show's famous songs, including 'Part of My World,' which will also be included in my new album that will be released soon… With an inspirational song I composed titled 'Whispered Fear'."
"And I'm glad the role of the Prince will be played by Erik Santos, who's a good friend of mine. The play will run from November 18 to December 11 at the Meralco Theatre," Rachel added.
How was her experience acting in "Nita Negrita?" "It was fun, I enjoyed it kasi ang babait ng mga nakasama ko like Ate Lotlot de Leon and Kuya Zoren Legaspi. They know I'm a newcomer, so they really helped me with my role. I hope GMA will give me another soap soon, but I heard I'd be in a reality show daw to be hosted by Kuya Ogie Alcasid. I'm really happy with GMA kasi even sa 'Party Pilipinas', maganda ang exposure and they always consult me about the numbers that I want to do."
Is it true that she and John Prats have broken up? "Once and for all, it's not true. We really don't know kung saan nanggaling 'yan. Parang they are so sure like they have confirmed it na. Tinatawanan na lang namin."
What does she like in John? "Napakabait niya. Very sincere. And I love his whole family na napakabait din."

ILLAC DIAZ has filed a case of malversation of public funds against Laguna board member Angelica Jones. Illac is the head of My Shelter Foundation that gave Angelica funds for the construction of eight schools in San Pablo City. Each school is worth P300,000. Only one school was constructed.
Angelica, for her part, filed charges of grave oral defamation against Illac. We won't be surprised if "Showbiz Central" will get Angelica again to guest in their show as her previous appearances are all top-raters since the public enjoys watching characters like her on national TV.

TV'S new child wonder is Mona Louise Rey, the title roler in GMA-7's "Munting Heredera." GMA-7 recently gave her a special press conference. She's so articulate for her age. She was born on August 19, 2004 in Bahrain. She's the youngest among four kids of her Pinay mom, Fatima, and Arab dad, Samier Al Alawi.
Fatima was working in Bahrain when she met Samier, who owns the popular restaurant Swan Lake. They were married in Manila in Islamic rites. Their eldest is a girl, who is now 19, followed by a boy, 17, and another girl, 14. After giving birth to Mona, Fatima decided to part with her husband and returned to Manila in 2004 with Mona, who was then still a baby.
"Mahirap ang ugali ng Arabo, parang slave ka," she says.
"Talagang nananakit sila, pero ako, lumalaban ako. E, napuno na ko kaya umuwi na ko and left our three kids with him. In 2006, hinatid niya ang mga anak namin dito sa Manila at kasama ko na ngayon ang mga bata dito. When they came, di sila marunong mag-Tagalog at all, pero ngayon, nakakasalita na, may accent nga lang."
Does her husband support their kids? "Hindi regular. Huli siyang nagpadala ng tulong, noong March pa. Nakahanap siya ng iba dito na may two kids din at 'yun ang sinusuportahan niya ngayon. Sumama nga loob ng mga anak namin sa kanya."
"The first two, hindi na nakakapag-aral at all. Yung panganay ko, very bright at nag-trabaho na agad to help me. But at first, hirap na hirap siya kasi napa-tigil sa pag-aaral at nag-self pity. Ako naman, nasa buy and sell business. Yung third, nasa high school, pero kinukuha na rin ng GMA para mag-artista at gusto naman niya."
Where did Mona get the Louise Rey in her name? "GMA gave that. Ang real name niya is Mona Al Alawi, pero hindi raw pang-showbiz. She was discovered by a talent scout that after seeing her ay pina-VTR na siya. Nakuha siya agad and has done eight commercials na. Nakuha rin siya sa 'Jillian, Namamasko Po.' Nag-taping siya ng two days doon, pero in a non-speaking role."
"Kinuha rin siya ng ABS for the new show, 'Atom.' Lead daw, pero biglang nagbago at hindi na raw lead. So, timing naman na kinuha siya ng GMA as lead for 'Munting Heredera.' Noong una, si Mona, di yan pinapansin ng ama niya. Hanggang hi at hello lang sa kanya. Pero ngayong sumisikat na, sabi ng ama niya, she got her good looks and talent from him. Biglang nagka-interest sa bata."

KEEMPEE de Leon plays another gay role in TV5's re-imagining of "Iskul Bukol." His role as Wacky may be considered today's version of Tonette Macho in the original show.
"The difference is he's open. Ako naman, closet queen," says Keempee. "Di ako makapag-ladlad dito kasi the school dean is my dad. I'm secretly in love here with Alwyn Uytingco, but he's in love naman with Erika Padilla, who is in love with me, not knowing badinger Z ako."
"It's a crazy kind of love triangle. This is not just a remake dahil updated ito for today's generation of young viewers na lumaki sa cell phones, internet, and Twitter. Hindi ito slapstick, but more like pinagsamang 'Friends' and 'How I Met Your Mother' ang humor."
Keempee reveals that his love child, Samantha, is now 15 years old. "Yes, may teenager na ko at natutuwa siya kapag nakikita niya ako na nagba-bading-badingan. She's so pretty at inaalok ng mag-artista, but I told her na mag-aral na lang muna siya."
Keempee also admits he has a new non-showbiz girlfriend, who's 14 years younger than him.
"Two months pa lang kami and she's from Cavite. She's a UP grad and works in a big company at Ortigas Center. But don't ask her name na lang, so she can maintain her privacy."
How did they meet? "Nanonood lang siya ng 'Eat Bulaga' and her beauty stood out. Doon kami nagkakilala and after that, naging regular na ang communication namin. Her work entails travelling around the country, so if I'm free, sinasamahan ko siya, pati sa pole dancing class niya. Even my daughter, boto sa kanya. I already introduced them to each other at nagkahulihan na agad sila ng loob."
So, do they intend to tie the knot soon? "Hindi muna. Bago pa lang kami and we're still getting to know each other. Also, gusto ko magpatayo muna ng sariling bahay bago magpakasal."
"Iskul Bukol" premieres this Tuesday after "Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak." They were hoping to come in at 10 p.m., but they doubt if this could happen, now that Willie Revillame's show is back on primetime that usually ends past 10 p.m. After that "Babaeng Hampaslupa" is shown, followed by "Nagbabagang Bulaklak."
We hope "Iskul Bukol" could air on Tuesday not on Wednesday at 12 midnight since this show fits today's young viewers. As such, we doubt if it would rate at all in its very late time slot.
For the meantime, congrats to "Babaeng Hampaslupa" because it's rating is higher than Willie's show even if it starts late. It got 8.2 percent compared to "Wil Time Bigtime's" 7.7 percent, when it started.
