RUFFA BILLBOARDS DEEMED TOO DISTRACTING

RUFFA Gutierrez was surprised when she learned that her Belo billboard for Bodytite was banned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as officials there found it too sexy and might distract pilots of airplanes coming in and out of the airport. She thinks compared to other billboards, her photos, taken by Marc Nicdao, are not really that sexy.
"To begin with, it's all been approved by the ASC or Advertising Standard Council," she says. "I've seen more daring provocative fotos and campaigns from both foreign and local brands that also passed but no one complained. But since we respect their decision, we'll not use the fotos na naka-swimsuit ako anymore kundi 'yun na lang shot na naka-red gown ako ang gagamitin. At least, legs ko lang ang pinapakita roon."
Meantime, Ruffa is happy with the positive comments her performance as the domineering and scheming network executive called Ms. O is getting in "Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak." "Nakakatuwa talaga kasi there are those who say na inaabangan nila talaga ako in the show pati kung ano ang isusuot ko," she says.
"That's why I really make an effort na iba-iba ang outfits and accessories that I wear in each episode. I have my own stylist to help me with my wardrobe and for my jewelry, I even borrowed all my mom's (Annabelle Rama) jewelry na may flowers in it kasi nga kailangang may bulaklak pati sa mga alahas na sinusuot ko."
She showed us the big flower ring on her finger studded with diamonds. "Like this one, kay Mommy ito, hiniram ko lang. But inaabangan din pati 'yung mga tarayan ng iba't ibang characters sa show, kasama na kami ni Valerie Concepcion who's my rival over my husband Richard Gomez. And yes, nagulat ako, finally, binigyan kami ni Goma ng bedscene with torrid kissing. Nailang ako as I haven't done that kind of eksena for so long."

Richard Gutierrez was able to take some rest during the Holy Week break when he and "Captain Barbell" co-stars Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff and Ervic Vijandre went to Boracay last Wednesday. His twin brother Raymond, along with three other brothers Rocky, Elvis and Ritchie Paul, were also with them. They returned to Manila on Monday, but Raymond returned ahead of them last Sunday for his live hosting chore in "Showbiz Central." Their parents, Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, chose to spend Holy Week in Baguio along with some of Annabelle's wards. Sister Ruffa was also not with them as she chose to accept the invitation of a friend to spend Lent in a remote farm in Mindanao. Ruffa went with daughters Lorin and Venice and their yayas.
When Richard and co-stars returned to Manila last Monday, they went straight to the set of "Captain Barbell" for the resumption of their taping of the hit show. He'll be taping every day until May 4, then he leaves with his parents for the US to watch the fight of Manny Pacquiao versus Mosley at Las Vegas, Nevada on May 7. "Kaya kailangang makapag-stock kami ng maraming episodes ng 'Captain Barbell' bago ako umalis for the States," he says. "This week, the fight between the warring groups of the Liga ng Kalayaan and Christopher de Leon's Puwersa ng Kadiliman gets more intense as they both try to recruit new members. Pag-aagawan nilang makuha si Ellen Adarna as Kat. Ako naman as Teng continues to be haunted by the memory of my dead wife, Rhian Ramos as Leah, so I will try to avoid Lovi Poe as Althea kahit na nagugustuhan ko na rin sana niya."

Dion Ignacio is glad to be added into the cast of "My Lover, My Wife" as Jordan Gomez, a partner in crime of Carmi Martin as Charity in her evil deeds against Maxene Magalona as Vivian and Luis Alandy as Arthur.
"Ang tagal ko na ring walang soap kaya it's really nice to be part of a hit show like this," he says. "Tapos puro magagaling pa ang kasama ko kaya ganado ako lagi sa taping namin."
This week, Carmi will order somebody to kill Dion's character as he now already knows so much about the criminal case involving her and daughter Nadine Samonte. Luis has already confessed everything he knows about the case and the cops arrest both Carmi and Nadine who fights back so she bleeds and loses the baby she's carrying. Nadine gets so depressed and bitter about what happened and she gets angrier when she learns that Maxene is also pregnant with Luis' baby. She tries to convince Maxene that she is sincerely concerned with her condition but she actually becomes a more vicious villain who's just cooking up some evil things in mind about Maxene and the baby.

Replacing "My Lover, My Wife" which is now on its last three weeks is the TV remake of "Blusang Itim" starring Kylie Padilla whose actuations turned off some press people when they visited the set of "Dwarfina," where she plays Dennis Trillo's sister. Kylie was just sitting there waiting for her take and the writers who were then interviewing Heart Evangelista requested that she be interviewed next. But she said she has to ask permission first from her manager and that there should be no questions to her about Aljur Abrenica. When she finally consented to be interviewed, the writers were already interviewing Dennis Trillo and said they didn't want to interview her anymore. "Nag-uumpisa pa lang, ang dami ng requirements at limitations," they said. "Ano siya, big star? Kung sina Heart at Dennis nga, walang mga kakiyemehan gayong sila ang lead stars sa 'Dwarfina'."
Kylie's camp better do some damage control, quick.

Fabio Ide is the busiest "Brapanese" model-actor in local showbiz now as he's seen Monday to Friday in "Tweetbiz Insiders" on GMA News TV Channel 11 and also in "Dwarfina" as Dweinstein on GMA-7. He's also in "Comedy Bar" on Saturdays.
Currently being linked to Rufa Mae Quinto and Lovi Poe, he says he feels embarrassed as these actresses might think he's using them just to be talked about. "I enjoy being with Rufa Mae as she's a fantastic woman, super kulit, super sweet, super funny to work with," he says. "Si Lovi Poe naman, I just said crush ko siya tapos lumaki na. I like morena women like her. She's so sexy, but that doesn't mean I intend to court her right away. I'm not ready to get into a new relationship yet after I broke up with my girlfriend. Also, I'm so busy with work. I want to give my heart a rest and stay single for a while. I don't want to give priority to my lovelife now that GMA is giving me a lot of good shows and opportunities."
His ex-girlfriend is former beauty queen Lia Ramos whom he met in Thailand and with whom he was on for more than two years. She has now also joined showbiz as co-host of Mikael Daez in the GMA News TV magazine show, "World Premiere." What can Fabio say about this?
"She's good and talented. I wish her the best."
Will he be willing to work with her?
"Why not? It's just a job. I just hope she's also willing to work with me."
