SEPARATING FROM VIC IS DINA'S "BEST MISTAKE"

MANILA, MARCH 2, 2011 (MALAYA) (PHOTO - DINA BONNEVIE] By ETHEL RAMOS - 'But it had to happen. And Dina is glad it happened.'

DINA Bonnevie considers her separation and eventual decision to have her marriage to comedian-host Vic Sotto annulled as the biggest mistake she has committed in her life. But, thus far, the best mistake she has done, too.

Dina explains: "Ang sakit na mahiwalay sa asawa, especially if he happens to be your first love. And Vic, definitely was to me."

But it had to happen. And Dina is glad it happened. At least, they both say that to date they have remained good friends.

Dina now believes this is probably the reason their children, Danica and Oyo, now both married, manage to lead a normal life, although they are products of a broken home.

Danica and Oyo never took it against their parents if they had their marriage dissolved. To them, they are good parents. And that's what matters.

Which is also what matters to Dina, who said she would never have emerged the good actress that she is now had she not gone through a marriage that went wrong.

Proof is the numerous acting awards she earned for herself for the many movies she has appeared in. Which explains why, at her age, she remains one of the most demand performers, both for TV and movies.

Dina reveals that in her current assignment, the upcoming movie, "Who's That Girl," she has but a cameo role. But just the same, she shines, even in her scenes with the two lead stars, Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano.

"Who's That Girl" is Dina's first flick with both Anne and Luis. She is impressed with both of them.

"Who's That Girl," a romantic comedy directed by Wenn Deramas, is the product of Viva Entertainment's partnership with SM Development Corporation, which has Anne as its major endorser.

Both the Viva Entertainment and SMDC are headed by two of the biggest magnates of the country, Vic del Rosario and Henry Sy, respectively.

"Who's That Girl" is set to open March 2. It also stars John Lapus, Candy Pangilinan and DJ Durano.

Speaking of Wenn Deramas, "Who's That Girl" has yet to be shown in more than 100 theaters, but he's already preparing for his next film assignment, "Private Benjamin," starring Vice Ganda.

It was also Direk Wenn who directed Vice in his launching movie, "Petrang Kabayo." Vice had Luis Manzano for his partner in that movie.

Direk Wenn has also been tapped to direct the remake of the series, "Mula sa Puso." He also directed the original version which had Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan for lead stars. This current "Mula sa Puso" will introduce a new love team, Lauren Young, who was featured in the series "Underage" and the movie, "Sa 'Yo Lamang," and JM de Guzman, whose last appearance was in the drama series, "Kristine."

Lately, according to Kris Aquino, she and estranged husband James Yap, have become closer. Thanks to their son, Bimby, as she calls their three-year-old boy. The tot is responsible for putting to an end the tension in every meeting of the estranged couple.

James may not have been around when Kris marked her birthday last February 14, but he sent her a gift, a bracelet.

James celebrated his natal day a day after Kris' birthday. Kris sent him a gift, too.

Meanwhile, Kris revealed that James suggested they address Baby James or Bimby as plain James.

It's likely that Kris will follow James' decision.
