MAR-KORINA BREAKUP RUMORS PERSIST

MANILA, MARCH 2, 2011 (MALAYA) (PHOTO FROM ABS-CBN NEWS- DINA BONNEVIE] MARIO BAUTISTA 'One story that served as appetizer is the rumor that Korina Sanchez and Mar Roxas are about to break up due to a third party, a widow said to be now working with Noynoy in Malacañang.'

DINA Bonnevie lives in an empty nest. "I'm left alone and it's kinda sad," she sighs. "Mga anak ko, may asawa na, ako, wala. I plan to sell our house and get a smaller condo unit for myself. Danica is pregnant with their second child ni Marc Pingris. I tell her ako lagi niyang tingnan para maging kamukha ko ang baby. Sina Oyo also want to have their baby na, but hindi raw madaling magbuntis si Kristine kasi may polycystic ovary and hormonal imbalance, but they're working on it. May adopted son sila, si Kiel, 3 years old."

Dina is back in a movie, "Who's That Girl?" where she plays Anne Curtis' mom.

"Si Anne muntik ko ng maging manugang. Matagal sila ni Oyo."

Anne is paired with Luis Manzano in the film. "Si Luis, na-link sa mga ex ni Oyo, una with Anne then with Angel Locsin," she observes.

Dennis Padilla plays Anne Curtis' dad in "Who's That Girl?" At the presscon, Dennis got visibly annoyed as writers kept on asking him about ex-wife Marjorie Barretto. It turns out they didn't part as friends and are not on speaking terms even if both of them now have new partners. When Dennis gets their kids to go out, he coordinates with their yaya, not with Marjorie. Their eldest, Julia, a child actress, is now 14, graduating from Grade 7 at Miriam College. "Maraming kumukuha sa kanya as a teen star but bawal sa school nila," he says. "About their mom, sana itong movie na lang ang pag-usapan natin."

Aside from "Who's That Girl?," Dennis is also in TV5's "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum" and hosts his own radio program on DZXL on weekdays, 12:30 to 2 p.m.

We had lunch at the Forbes Park home of Sen. Loren Legarda where she's been living since 2001. It's the first time she met the press since the last election. So how is she after she lost as vice president?

"I was able to move on very quickly," she says. "I'm glad I have the gift for acceptance. I was able to accept my loss and I appreciate more being in the Senate now."

Did she have a falling out with Mother Lily Monteverde who used to support her but then chose Mar Roxas?

"None, there's pain, but she's like my mother. She called up me then to say she's supporting Noynoy, so it follows she'd support his VP. She invited me to her recent Chinese New Year affair but may dalawa na akong previous appointments na natanguan. One of these days, we'll have lunch."

The lunch we had with Loren was so lively as the other writers present talked about a host of other issues, most of them off the record. Loren herself volunteered juicy stories but she begged us not to write about them at all.

One story that served as appetizer is the rumor that Korina Sanchez and Mar Roxas are about to break up due to a third party, a widow said to be now working with Noynoy in Malacañang.

It's been denied by the parties concerned but you know how such gossip refuses to die easily. We inquired about Loren's own love life when she served us coffee from East Timor. Is it true the president of that country, Jose Horta, is courting her?

"Naku, hindi. He's single and I'm single, but there's nothing going on between us. Kung magkaka-boyfriend man uli ako, I won't hide him. I'll introduce him to you."

[PHOTO - GEOFF & CARLA LOVE TEAM) The question most frequently asked to Geoff Eigenmann at the "Magic Palayok" presscon was: when are you and Carla Abellana going to wed? Doesn't he get tired hearing the same question over and over again?

"Wala," he shrugs. "Before, ang laging tinatanong was kung on na ba kami, so I guess logical lang that the next question after we admitted na officially on na nga kami is: kailan kayo pakakasal? Ganun din naman sa iba pang artista who admitted they're going steady, 'di ba? And I guess hangga't hindi kami kinakasal, itatanong at itatanong pa rin 'yun at paulit-ulit din naming isasagot na we're not yet ready as we're still enjoying our careers."

In "Magic Palayok" that airs weekdays at 4 p.m., he plays Jude, a rich guy who could be the long-lost dad of Angeli Sanoy, the girl who owns the magic palayok that can cook all sorts of delicious dishes. Her mom, Mikee Cojuangco in a special guest role, dies and so Angeli is forced to search for her father. But the problem is there are three other guys who are also suspected to be her possible dad: Jay-R, Gino de la Pena and Frank Garcia.

"Our last show ni Carla was a heavy drama, 'Basahang Ginto.' This one is much lighter at may fantasy elements for the whole family."

Bibeth Orteza is glad the show she directs for Q11, "Full Time Moms" with Christine Jacob-Sandejas and Suzi Entrata-Abrera, is one of the two shows retained (the other one is "Tweetbiz") now that the station has been reformatted as GMA News TV.

The best talk-variety show about moms and for moms from all walks of life, it's shown weekdays at 5 p.m. They made a new opening intro with the hosts having fun with moms of different professions: a doctor, a cook, a security guard among others, as they do their duties in and out of the home.

"I'm blessed to have Christine and Suzi who are truly good wives and moms, and also good hosts," says Bibeth, who now lives alone in their Forbes Park home since hubby Carlitos Siguion Reyna is teaching in Singapore and their two kids are both in college in the US. Recently, her father-in-law and husband of Tita Midz, passed away and Carlitos came home.

"When he returned to Singapore, I couldn't contact him for three days. Patay ang celfone, 'di sumasagot sa email, so I got worried and called up their university's office. Sabi, 'di raw nila nakikita. Pag 'di pa raw nagpakita ng 1 p.m., pupuntahan nila where he lives. I called up at 10 a.m., so from that time up to 1 p.m., I was a nervous wreck. When they called, nandun daw siya, but he's grieving badly. When he finally skyped, I saw he's unshaven at 'yung damit na suot niya when he left, hindi nagpapalit. 'Di rin kumakain. Right there and then, I left everything and flew to Singapore. The days that followed, para kaming Juday at Ryan. Carlitos is not the sweet touching type, but during that time, first time in 22 years naming naglalakad kaming magka-holding hands. Nasa escalator kami, ni-lips to lips ako. It's his way of coping with the loss of his dad."

Viva Records launches the album of a new singer-songwriter, balikbayan Anton Alvarez, discovered while singing in a piano bar in Paris.

"Millie Gurfinkel told me to give showbiz a try," he says. "I told her I'm too old but she introduced me to Boss Vic del Rosario. It turned out ABS-CBN is looking for a Spanish singer to sing the theme song of 'Rubi' and it was offered to me. So my voice was heard in 'Rubi' during its entire run. Then Boss Vic told me to record my own album, which contains six of my own compositions."

Born in Manila on March 30, 1966, his Spanish dad and Pinay mom moved to Nebraska when he was four years old. "I've been singing since grade school doing school plays and I later formed my own band that won in several band competitions."

Anton is now 45 but he looks so much younger with his slim build that's nearly 6 ft. tall and matinee idol good looks. He got divorced three years ago from his French wife of 20 years and it was during this emotional time that he got to write a lot of songs. They have three sons and a daughter, ages ranging from 18 to 5. When not singing, he's a business consultant with nine offices in Europe. His debut album has 12 songs and is titled "100% Heart" it comes straight from his heart, with all the songs he wrote all very meaningful for him. He gets to duet with Sarah Geronimo in "Wish" and with Rachelle Ann Go in "Words." The other great cuts are "Believe in Me" (which has an uplifting message), "Oh Girl" (about the breakup of his marriage), "The Promise of My Heart," "Fields of Gold," "Kung Sana," "Thinking of You," "Live for Fame," and "Through the Barricades."

He wants to thank Sarah and Rachelle for collaborating with him. "They're both amazing performers, very professional, and the support they gave me in this album is really awesome. I wish we could appear in shows together one of these days."
