PSYCHE OUT TO BE RP'S 2nd MISS EARTH
MANILA, NOVEMBER 21, 2010 (MALAYA) REIGNING Miss Philippines-Earth Kris Psyche Orozco Resus is now in Vietnam alongside 85 other gorgeous environment "warriors" from all over the planet to vie for the coveted Miss Earth 2010 crown.
Created nine years ago by Carousel Productions Inc. headed by businessman Ramon Monzon and former beauty queen Lorraine Schuck, the annual global beauty search in the Philippines that has grown to become one of the top three pageants in the world, moves over to Vietnam for its 10th outing.
"I'm really quite excited and eager to join the rest of the delegates from all over the world," Psyche said during her send-off luncheon party at Villa Imaculada in Intramuros last November 4, two days before her flight to Vietnam. "I know I will encounter tough competition in the pageant for all my fellow contestants are really beautiful, but I am up to the challenge. What is more important, I believe, is that I will be able to foster lasting friendships. After all, we are one in the cause to save and protect Mother Earth, not only for ourselves, but for future generations to come."
Standing 5'6" and measuring 34-22-34, Psyche has prepared long and hard for her pageant campaign in Vietnam. She underwent rigorous workouts in the gym, had sessions in walking and posing under pageant trainer Rodgil Flores and his team, as well as practice sessions under Cathy Untalan (Miss Earth-Water 2006 and Miss Earth Foundation chairman), Karla Henry (Miss Earth 2008) and Ms. Ping Valencia. Her wardrobe will include a Muslim-inspired national costume, elegant gown, and other dresses from noted designer tandem Edwin Uy and Dave Ocampo.
The spectacular coronation night will take place at Vinpearl Island Resort, Nha Trang, Vietnam on December 4 and will be aired in the Philippines on December 5 by ABS-CBN and internationally by The Filipino Channel and Star World.
