MANILA, NOVEMBER 4, 2010 (BULLETIN) By NEIL RAMOS - A major revamp is said to be in the works for ABS-CBN's long-running primetimes news vehicle, "TV Patrol."
According to reports, former vice president Noli de Castro, and first lady hopeful Korina Sanchez is set to return to their former posts replacing anchors Julius Babao and Karen Davila.
The report made no mention of possible alternate ventures for Babao and Davila even as it hinted that Ted Failon will allegedly be retained.

Meanwhile, Karen Davila and Julius Babao will join Ces Drilon on Bandila .
It is insinuated that the revamp was prompted by the burgeoning popularity of controversial TV host, Willie Revillame's new show on rival channel TV5, "Willing Willie", which also airs on the same time slot.
"Paparazzi's" Cristy Fermin, a staunch supporter of Revillame, hinted on the matter during Sunday's episode of the talk show.
"May nakausap akong taga-loob [ABS CBN] at ang sabi, dati walang planong ganito pero nang lumutang ang 'Willing Willie' at binago ang mukha ng timeslot na ito, biglang nagkaroon ng plano," said she.
There are those who suggested a different scenario: Allegedly, Sanchez, rumored to have a long-standing feud with Davila, broached the overhaul in the hopes of regaining her "throne," after the recent resignation of ABS-CBN news head Maria Ressa.
Recall that Davila replaced Sanchez as "TV Patrol" anchor at the height of nasty rumors related to the latter's relationship with politician Mar Roxas in 2004.
According to a website, the face lift was "brought by convenient timing and potential politicking on a greater scale."
Although ABS-CBN is mum on the subject, additional reports have it that the change will take effect on Nov. 8.
Ruffa Guiterrez, Fermin's co-host on "Paparazzi," is bullish about Babao and Davila's future.
"They're both excellent journalist with untainted reputations kahit saan sila ilagay o lumipat, tatangapin pa rin sila ng tao," she said.
The indefatigable Fermin bolstered the statement, saying, "Oo si Karen parang talbos ng kamote yan, kahit saan mo itapon yan, tutubo."
