MANILA, SEPTEMBER 14, 2012 (PHILSTAR) FUNFARE UPDATE By Ricardo F. Lo
-Although she's recovering fast from her recent kidney surgery, Zsa Zsa Padilla
has been advised by her doctor to take it easy and not to rush going back to
work.
But on Wednesday night, Sept. 19, starting at 7 o'clock at the SM Mall Of
Asia (MOA) Arena, she will lead the array of stars performing at the Dolphy Alay
Tawa, a musical tribute to the Comedy King produced by the Dolphy Aid Para Sa
Pinoy Foundation, Inc. in cooperation with PLDT, Bench and PAGCOR. On hand to
help Zsa Zsa are the Quizon children Eric, Jeffrey, Vandolph, Sally, Ronnie,
Dolphy Jr., Ronnie, Edgar and Zia.
It will mark Zsa Zsa's first public appearance since she came back from
treatment in the States.
The three giant networks — ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5 — are pooling efforts in
making the event a success, with the show to be aired in those channels as a
special on Sept. 30, Sunday, at the same time and with the same commercial load.
It's one of the rare times that the networks are together for a common
cause...to pay homage to Dolphy who died last July.
"The management of the three networks and their talents are working together
to bring life to our father's biography," said Eric, presumably referring to the
book Hindi Ko Ito Narating Mag-Isa by Bibeth Orteza who is serving as the show's
scriptwriter with Al Quinn as director.

Last Tuesday, Sept. 11, Unitel head Tony Gloria hosted a thanksgiving welcome
for Zsa Zsa, who came with daughters Karylle and Zia, with a private screening I
Do Bidoo Bidoo at My Movie Cinema of Greenbelt Cinema 3.
Present were Zsa Zsa's co-stars Gary Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid, Sam
Concepcion, Eugene Domingo,Tippy dos Santos, Kiray Celis, John Lapus, Sweet
Plantado and Frenchie Dee, with writer-director Chris Martinez and music
arranger Vincent de Jesus. Jim Paredes of The APO, whose songs inspired the
movie, was also there.
After the screening Zsa Zsa posted in her Facebook, "Thank you for your
generosity, Mr Tony Gloria. Thanks for making such an enjoyable film, direk
Chris Martinez. And thanks for your music, Apo!"
She added, "It was really touching that almost the whole cast was there and,
of course, prod people, friends and family…I totally enjoyed the movie and so
proud to have been part of a very beautiful project. I am, of course, familiar
with the script and the story but was greatly surprised with the way the songs
made its way in the story. So happy with the way Chris directed the film! I am
proud to be an Apo fan. I'm so happy that their original music was made into a
film for the new generation to appreciate."
Kuh holds first one woman exhibit

She sings, she preaches her Christian faith and…what else Kuh Ledesma can do?
Yes, she paints!
Kuh takes a new step forward in her creative journey with her debut
(one-day-only) exhibit titled Unexpected tonight at White Space (2314 Chino
Roces Avenue Extension, Makati City).
Kuh discovered her love for painting as a young girl. But when she took up
singing, painting was pushed aside. Recently, she took it up again, taking to
acrylic and canvas with passion that has always been a trademark of her creative
endeavors.
And yet, these artworks are not traditional still-lifes or portraits — again,
something that Kuh knows well. She has never been typical or ordinary in
anything she undertakes. Everyone knows her to be an artist that crosses
borders, breaks down stereotypes, and challenges traditional art forms to come
up with something new and ground-breaking every time.
The artworks in her exhibit belong to a genre that art critics and experts
refer to as non-representational and abstract. Soon to open also is Kuh's art
gallery in Mandaluyong City.
