This was confirmed by Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda after the
send-off ceremony for the President on Monday at the NAIA.
Lacierda said the meeting between the President and Sanchez will happen after
the dialogue with members of the Filipino community in Los Angeles.
"Bago siya umalis, the last leg is LA. Pagpunta sa LA, meeting with the
business groups, meet with Jessica and meet with the Filipino community, then
lipad na siya pabalik ng Pilipinas," Lacierda said.
The Palace was all praises and support for Sanchez when the
Filipino-Mexican-American singer competed and finished second on "American
Idol."
Malacañang had said that "throughout her long, arduous journey, people
considered Ms. Sanchez a performer imbued with an extraordinary gift of music
and heart."
It added that Sanchez's "American Idol" stint was only the beginning of a
great career for the 16-year-old Pinoy.
