"American Idol" runner-up Jessica Sanchez was among the stars who came out to
celebrate the Memorial Day weekend in the United States.
The Filipino-Mexican singer was part of the star-studded lineup of performers
for the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington D.C.
Sanchez led the singing of the American national anthem "The Star-Spangled
Banner."
She shared the stage with the National Symphony Orchestra and fellow
performers including "Idol" alumnus Chris Daughtry, Grammy winner Natalie Cole
and country superstar Trace Adkins.
Sanchez was also supposed to sing "The Prayer" and "God Bless America" live
but the show was cancelled half-way through due to bad weather.
According to the official Twitter account of PBS, the management just decided
to air yesterday's dress rehearsal to fill in the second half of the show.
"The first 45 minutes of tonight's Natl Memorial Day Concert were broadcast
before weather forced rest of the show to be canceled," it said.
"#MemDayPBS concert cancelled half way through due to weather. We edited in
video from yesterday's dress rehersal to fill in 2nd half," PBS added.
