LYNCHING
MANILA, MARCH 7, 2012 (TRIBUNE) The yellow mob of Noynoy has lately
expanded to members of the Senate impeachment court its public lynching targets
as the imminent verdict on impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona is becoming
apparent after the House prosecutors withdrew five of the eight charges in the
articles of impeachment.
The other day, a Catholic priest known to be close to the Aquino family
became the latest tool for the yellow attack against the senator-judges with an
admonition against Senator-Judge Miriam Defensor-Santiago that she's courting
the fires of hell for her frequent tirades against the allies of Noynoy in the
House prosecution panel.
Prior to these, the members of the yellow mob, primarily the House allies of
Noynoy and the several yellow groups of civil socialities were extolling
Vitaliano Aguirre who angered senator judges for making the uncalled for gesture
of covering his ears when Santiago was raising a point to the prosecutors over
their decision to withdraw a substantial portion of their allegations against
Corona.
The group calling itself Former Senior Government Officials (FSGO), which was
formed by the so-called Hyatt 10 of Cabinet officials that bolted the
administration of former President Arroyo, even issued a press statement saying
that a fund raising campaign was started to pay whatever dues Aguirre will incur
after being cited in contempt by the impeachment court.
The trouble with these civil society groups which have so many names but are
really one and the same yellow group, do come up with all these statements,
despite the fact that it does not reflect the sentiments of the entire FSGO
members, but the Yellows within that group and whoever is the head of a group
that is pro-Nonoy, come up with that kind of propaganda, to create a perception
that indeed such groups are not only for the conviction of the Chief Justice,
but also that it is a very influential group, which in reality it is not.
But Aguirre is being made a rallying figure against select impeachment court
judges who contradict the prosecution panel and are perceived to be leaning
toward acquitting Corona.
Senate President and impeachment court presiding judge Juan Ponce Enrile had
issued a warning also recently against those issuing statements preempting the
impeachment process which were directed against Malacañang and its House allies
who keep up a barrage of propaganda for the media with assessments all pointing
to a definite conviction of Corona.
Such statements are usually accompanied by views about the supposed bias of
some of the judges and which is being blamed on the inability of the House panel
to present its evidence.
Obviously the goal is to villify the judges as being the cause of the more
probable acquittal of Corona and lay the basis for extra-constitutional means to
oust the Chief Justice on the assumption of a partial Senate court.
In reality, however, the string of setbacks that the House panel encounters
almost at a predictable interval at the Senate court has been mostly the result
of its incompetence in substantiating its allegations against Corona.
Frequently raised against the prosecutors were their inabilities to follow
basic litigation procedures that are learned early on in law school.
Noynoy had stated in the past that the impeachment process would not be the
only means he intends to use in removing Corona and in his retaking of the
Supreme Court.
He indicated his preference for quick extra-constitutional means to attain
his whims when he declared during the campaign period that there was no way he
would lose in the presidential election except if he was cheated and that he was
ready to call for another People Power assembly to force his proclamation as
president.
Noynoy and his mob's thirst for political blood appears insatiable, targeting
all whom they consider as obstacles to their hypocritical straight path goal.
Those who get in the mob's way are noosed and hanged high.
