SURVEY / NO REST FOR PNoy BREAK
MANILA, MARCH 24, 2012 (ABS-CBN) By Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News -
Malacañang denied Friday that a recent Pulse Asia survey showing a drop in Chief
Justice Renato Corona's trust and approval ratings is Palace propaganda.
Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda (photo) said the February
26-March 9 survey is part of Pulse Asia's quarterly Ulat ng Bayan.
Lacierda denied meeting Pulse Asia's Ana Marie Tabunda or that the Palace got
advance information of the survey results.
The survey earlier showed 60% of Filipinos do not trust Corona while 29%
remain undecided. It showed only 14% of Filipinos said they approve of Corona's
performance compared to 58% who disapprove and 26% who are undecided.
Corona is currently fighting impeachment charges before the Senate, including
failure to disclose his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth as
required under the Constitution.
Lacierda, meanwhile, said it is unfair for critics to say the economy is bad,
citing indicators like the performance of the stock market index and what he
said is a decline in inflation and unemployment numbers.

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino will still be at work even
during the Holy Week, his spokesman said Friday.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Aquino will attend the 20th
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on
April 3-4.
Aquino will fly back to Manila on April 5, Maundy Thursday. He is expected to
make rounds in various air and sea ports as well as bus terminals to make sure
the Holy Week travelers are properly secured.
Lacierda said he would verify if and when the President plans to inspect
