PNoy HURLED TO CRITICS: AM I A WHIMP OR DICTATOR?
MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

MANILA, FEBRUARY 18,
2012 (PHILSTAR) By Aurea Calica - Make up
your mind: am I a wimp or a dictator?
President Aquino hurled this challenge yesterday to his critics, saying they
were getting confused in their name-calling.
Speaking at a forum with students in celebration of the first EDSA people
power revolution in 1986, the President said he learned that the camp of
impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona, along with his other critics, planned to
focus their attacks on him.
"(You say) I'm a spoiled brat, immature. You have so many criticisms against
me. In 2010 (you said) I am wimpy, very weak. In 2011, I am a dictator. In 2012,
I am now a wimpy dictator," Aquino said.
The President's critics said he was being a dictator for pushing for the
removal of Corona so he could control the executive, legislative and judicial
branches of government.
But the President belied this, saying having Corona at the head of the
Supreme Court (SC) has been hampering his fight against graft and corruption.

He said it would be "extremely difficult, if not impossible" to pursue his
reforms if Corona would be allowed to stay.
The President said it was Corona who led the SC to grant a temporary
restraining order against the travel ban on former President and now Pampanga
Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was facing various charges.
He said the Corona-led SC almost allowed Arroyo to escape when an electoral
sabotage charge against her could prescribe this year. The offense was allegedly
committed in 2007 and Arroyo's prolonged stay abroad could allow her to avoid
prosecution.
The President said he would only want to offer the next generation a better
system of government, including clean elections.
Aquino called for the youth's active participation in making the necessary
changes in the country.
PNoy asks public: Don't harass Grace Lee's mom

MANILA, Philippines -- President Benigno Aquino III on Thursday asked
the public not to harass the mother of Korean television and radio personality
Grace Lee, who has been seeing the country's chief executive.
Aquino, 52, made the statement after a student asked about the 29-year-old
Korean during a forum at the La Consolacion College in Manila for the 26th
anniversary celebration of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The President stressed that Lee's mother should not be dragged into the
issue. He cited an incident where Lee's mother had to pretend to be a customer
in her own grocery store to avoid being stalked or interviewed.
"Makikiusap naman ako nang konti doon. 'Yung nanay niya may grocery store,
true story po ito. Edi marami hong gustong mag-usisa doon. So pinuntahan po
'yung nanay niya eh wala namang kinalaman po ngayon sa atin pong usapan. Ang
ginawa po ng nanay niya, nagpanggap na mamimili doon sa tindahan para lang
makaalis," Aquino said.
"Eh nahaharass 'yung tao eh, wala naman hong matutuwa kung may gagawa sa atin
noon. Kawawa naman 'yung mga taong nadadamay at nagugulo ang buhay nila," he
added.
He then said of the status of his relationship with Lee: "Maayos naman."
Early this week, Lee cried foul over a report which quoted her as saying that
she sees herself marrying Aquino. VERA Files, which published the report, has
acknowledged that the author made mistakes in quoting Lee during her radio show.

Lee has hinted that Aquino has a big chance of winning her heart, saying: "I
think he's in the forefront. He's first in the line.
