MANILA, JANUARY
26, 2012 (STAR) DIRECTLINE By
Boy Abunda - Two months after she gave birth, Regine Velasquez is up and about.
She will be performing in a Valentine concert with husband Ogie Alcasid. She
made her first public appearance in a press conference where she shared her joy
of being a first-time mom.
Regine enthused, "I was scheduled to have a check-up. But the doctor told me,
kailangan ng ilabas ang baby. I called Ogie at natawa pa nga kami kasi kinabahan
siya because he was not with me and he was taping but nevertheless, he came
over." Nervous, Regine tried to be calm. "Ogie was trying to distract me. He was
trying to be funny the whole time because he knew I was nervous."
When Baby Nate came out, Regine waited for her baby to cry. "Noong nadinig ko
yong iyak niya, umiyak na rin ako."
Baby Nate is now Regine's top most priority. "When I was pregnant people
would always tell me that having a baby would change my life. I had no idea.
It is wonderful."
Regine said that all she can think of now is her baby. "You just can't leave.
Ano ang kakainin ni baby. Nakakatuwa. We are both blessed kasi mabait yong baby.
He is a good boy."
She is hands on when it comes to her son. "Bago pa siya umiyak, inuunahan ko
ng gising. Padededehin ko na."
Nathaniel James was baptized in St. John Bosco Parish Church in Makati City
with 10 sets of godparents including Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., Rep. Manny Pacquiao,
GMA president and CEO Jimmy Duavit, Dingdong Dantes, Raul Mitra, Ben Chan, Kris
Aquino, Judy Ann Santos, Cacai Velasquez, Ai-Ai delas Alas and Michelle van
Eimeren Murrow.
He will be baptized again in a Christian ceremony.
Mommy Divine allows Sarah to accept suitors?
Has Mommy Divine loosened her reins on daughter Sarah Geronimo's suitors?
According to the grapevine, rumored special friend Gerald Anderson gifted Sarah
with a Tiffany necklace. And Sarah, still according to wags, gave Gerald a
perfume and a T-shirt. Where it happened, how it happened nobody knows.
Asked to comment on the rumor that Sarah gifted him with a perfume, Gerald
quipped, "Siempre, I feel special kung totoo man yon. At sobra akong thankful."
When asked if he is courting Sarah, Gerald replied, "I am just happy na binigyan
I am happy wherever we are now.
'Wag po tayo mag mamadali. Just enjoy what we have now."
But has Mommy Divine allowed her daughter to accept suitors now? "Hindi pa.
Pero okay lang siguro lumabas. Friendly lang. Siempre with the permission of my
parents," said Sarah.
Pokwang begs people not to be judgmental
Pokwang was emotional when she admitted that yes, she has a brother who is
now in jail in Dubai. "Meron akong kuya na nakatira sa Dubai. Ganoon po talaga
sa atin, sa pamilya natin, merong isa na naliligaw ng landas. At sa pagkakamali
nating nagagawa, dumarating yong oras na kailangan na nating matuto," she
explained.
However, she denied that she has not been helpful to the needs of her elder
brother. "Matagal na po itong issue. He asked for my help at sa mga kapatid ko.
anak niya. Sila yong nakakausap namin."
Pokwang also begged people not to be judgmental about her. "Marami akong
tinutulungan sa pamilya. Umaabot sa puntong sa dami mong tinutulungan napapagod
ka na rin, di ba?"
Pokwang said that her relatives know that she has not been remiss in her
duties. "Hindi ako pabayang kamag-anak. Hindi ako pabayang kapatid."
"Ang problema ang dali nating manghusga. Ako I tried na maayos ang buhay ko.
Inayos ko ang buhay ko. Naayos ko ang buhay ko. Ginawa ko ang lahat, lahat para
mabigyan ko ng magandang buhay ang kapatid ko, yong nanay ko, yong ibang mga
pamangkin ko. Pero this time, 'wag niyo naman ikarga sa akin, sobra sobra na."
She also promised to her brother that she will continue to support his
children. "Hindi namin sila pababayaan hanggang makatapos sila ng pag-aaral,
hanggang sa malampasan mo yan, makauwi ka rito, hindi namin sila pababayaan. Yon
ang promise namin nila ate."
Last Sunday, I got a call from a source that Pokwang's brother may actually
be not in jail in Dubai. This remains unverified. Because if this is so, then
this raises more questions that may strain further Pokwang's relationship with
her brother.
