personality Grace Lee has revealed that she is dating President Aquino.
"Just asked Grace Lee if it's true that she had dinner with President Aquino.
She said she did," disc jockey Mo Twister tweeted, when talks about Lee and
Aquino's reported date went the rounds in the social networking site.
Lee, a show biz anchor of GMA-7 and a DJ of Magic 89.9, had reportedly been
telling her colleagues that Aquino, a 51-year-old bachelor, is her textmate, and
that the President tries to visit her if he has time.
The 28-year-old Korean, who speaks Tagalog and Cebuano fluently, did an
exclusive interview with Aquino at Malacañang last Dec. 23 for her radio
program.
A certain "pinoyradiofan" started out with a tweet that Aquino's number one
priority at this point is not the government's anti-piracy campaign, rather his
love life, following reports his political adviser was caught buying pirated
DVDs in a Quezon City mall.
This was followed by a reaction from Monica Alejo, who asked whether the
report was "serious," to which Lysa Olano (dbrat_lysa) revealed that Mo Twister
had been "making fun of Grace Lee for having dinner with P-Noy."
Kimboy Uy then tweeted, "Wouldn't it be fun when Grace Lee reports in Chika
Minute how she dated the President?"
To which Twister answered, it would be "Fun fun."
Aquino had referred to Lee as gwapa or beautiful and good-looking when he
inaugurated the KEPCO-SPC power plant in Cebu in mid-2011, where the event was
hosted by Lee.
"It won't be hard to invite us to Cebu. I even mistook the Korean Grace Lee
for a Filipina. Even the Koreans who visit our country are beautiful. Maybe we
should revive the Malacañang sa Sugbu because we might meet our fate here," he
said in Filipino on that occasion.
Lee, then wearing a Korean costume, caught the eye of the President who was
with Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.
KEPCO is a Korean company that specializes in providing electric utility.
It was reported last week that Aquino went on a dinner date after receiving
Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in Malacañang. However, the sources
refused to divulge the name of the President's date.
They were seen having dinner and coffee afterwards. Aquino also escorted the
girl to her home after they went out, sources said.
The President and his "date" supposedly met in a public engagement recently.
Aquino last dated teacher Mary Louise Calica publicly after stockbroker Maria
Elena Lopez and stylist Liz Uy. He was said to have also shown "interest" in
actress Iza Calzado when they met and had a chance to talk at the birthday party
of actor-singer Ogie Alcasid, but did not pursue it. Calzado clarified they only
conversed and did not go out on a date.
Aquino's love life was in the news again after his sister, actress and
television host Kris, tweeted that the Thai leader would be a good match for her
bachelor-brother.
In December, the President said settling down was not in his list of
priorities.
