would've followed in her family's footsteps if she weren't Queen of Talk]
MANILA,
DECEMBER 12, 2011 (BULLETIN) Just like her brother Noynoy and their late
parents Ninoy and Cory, loquacious TV host Kris Aquino could have been in
politics had she not chosen to work in show business.
"The only other thing I could see myself doing… ang nakita 'ko siguro public
service talaga. I'm of age, I'll
probably be [a] senator [or] Senate President.
"Inagawan talaga si Enrile [Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile] ng posisyon!"
Kris said on her show "Kris TV" on Dec. 14.
She continued, "The only other thing I could think of talaga would be
politics. Kung hindi ako naging celebrity after college, I would've taken law.
Kasi yun ang frustration ng both mom and dad ko. My dad actually finished it but
didn't take the bar. My mom took two years of law and then got married. So baka
ako yung naging lawyer talaga."
Prior, Kris admitted that she honestly didn't know what she could have been
since she has been in entertainment for so long.
"Yung totoo talaga, kung hindi po ako naging… actually wala talaga!
"From the time I was two years old talaga, gano'n kaaga, I knew I would
perform and this was it.
nagde-declamation, umaarte-arte. 'Yun na eh," she related.
Aside from these, Kris also considered being a judge, saying, "Bongga 'yun,
'di ba?"
"At by now, kung ako yung naging judge, annulled na 'ko. Hindi loko lang!"
she shrilled, laughing.
Speaking of her marriage, Kris wishes for "freedom" from it this
Christmas.Recall that she filed the annulment case against cager husband James
Yap last year.
"My Christmas wish would have been sana a solid family, who would not want
that. Since it didn't work out, I want freedom for him and freedom for me. And I
want finality," she was quoted as saying in an article on abs-cbnnews.com posted
on Tuesday.
"Right now I don't have that freedom because we [James and Kris] are not
legally free to do so. Iba kasi ang sitwasyon sa lalaki. Lalaki si James, sa
kanya walang mawawala. Ako, may mawawala sa akin," she added.
Kris Aquino hopes to snag second spot in MMFF

[Second best is good enough for Kris]
MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino is realistic enough to not aim for the top
spot in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
However, according to Aquino, she would want her film "Segunda Mano" to
capture the number two position.
"Number two. Very honest ako sa number two," said she in an interview with
PEP.
Aquino recalled how she predicted "Dalaw" – her entry in last year's festival
– landing on the third spot.
"Di ba, dati sinabi ko gusto ko mag-number three? I was so happy. Ngayon,
gusto ko mag-number two, kaya 'segunda mano.'
Aquino continued playing seer, predicting that the number one spot in this
year's MMFF belongs to the Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai delas Alas flick, "Enteng ng Ina
Mo."
"Magpakatotoo na tayo, sa kanila na 'yon," said she. "Ang pinaglalabanan na
lang ay second slot. At sana sa amin na mapunta 'yon."
She doesn't hope to win an acting plum for "Segunda Mano."
"I won't win. Hindi naman ako nananalo ever. Makatotohanan naman ako. Pero
magaling ako dito," she said.
"Aminin na natin. Nandiyan si Ate Mary [Maricel Soriano], nandiyan si Juday,"
she added.
But Aquino assured the movie-going public that they won't be disappointed
with what she and her team came up with in "Segunda Mano."
"Siksik at sulit" is how Aquino described the film.
"Ang siksik dito, ang script ni Direk Joyce is there… never a dull moment.
Kumbaga, when I was watching it, ang dami niyang tinapon. Naloka ako, sabi ko,
may mga moments na pinaghirapan but she felt it was not constructive or needed
in the story so it was gone. But the flow was just so fast. 'Yon talagang level
ng 'Final Destination' sa bilis. Kaya 'yon ang siksik," she explained.
Explaining the plot of the film, Aquino said that it is all about "wants."

"It's a story that everybody can identify with," she said. "Brand-conscious
tayong bansa. We aspire to things that others have.
kumpiyansa. Pero at what price? It goes down to the values also na what really
matters.
More than anything, Aquino said they are offering something deeper, if
different, for Pinoys.
"Ang talagang mapaninindigan dito [the film] is that it takes horror in a
different direction.
talaga. Ngayon, nag-iba, e. I think apart from 'No Other Woman,' people want to
see something different. And this is different. This is different at its very
best."
This is not the case for Aquino's older brother, President Noynoy Aquino.

The president was heard singing an old tune in an early Christmas celebration
attended by several congressional representatives. ABS-CBNNews.com reported that
President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino" joined the congressmen to personally thank
them for facilitating the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
According to the report, the president also "expressed gratitude for the
quick passage of the 2012 national budget." He added that he is hoping for
"reforms in the judiciary [branch], as well as better prospects for the economy
next year."
And what better way to show gratitude. The report noted that Aquino gamely
sang Freddie Aguilar's "Estudyante Blues" in front of the appreciative
politicos.
This isn't new of course. Pnoy belted the same tune in public on June 30,
