SPARKLING

Cristalle Belo Henares, daughter of "dermatologist to the stars"
Vicki Belo, is always in the know when it comes to the latest breakthroughs in
aesthetics and skincare.
For sure, she herself takes meticulous care of her looks: Glycopeel cleaning
every other week coupled with Powerpeel to exfoliate the skin; Sculptor Plus to
keep facial skin tight and Skin Master Eyes + Meso Eyes to eliminate dark
circles; daily use of Pore Minimizing Face Wash in the morning and evening;
application of Intensive Collagen Serum on the face and neck and Elastiderm
around the eye area; and taking Belo Nutraceuticals Glutathione + Collagen pills
first thing in the morning when glutathione levels are low (to help the body
rejuvenate and repair itself at night).
But Cristalle exudes a distinct kind of glow, and it's something that even
the most cutting-edge beauty technology can't provide. "I live in blissful
simplicity and delight in God's glory. I'm a simple girl who enjoys going to the
province, taking public transportation, going to the mountains and teaching
children," she reveals.
The skincare heiress always looks back with fondness at her life-changing
experience in Malaybalay, Bukidnon when she volunteered to be a preschool
teacher for one school year through the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines (JVP).
There in the "boondocks," she learned to live an austere life, subsisting on a
P3,500 monthly allowance. "I loved that experience because it taught me how to
live simply and really depend on God when I was weak and lonely," she muses.

Hence, it was as if Cristalle was reliving that experience when she again
took a trip to Bukidnon last April 5 to celebrate her birthday with her Kinder 2
students, who have now graduated from Grade 6. "It was the best birthday gift
ever! I celebrated my big day with them," she shares.
Her upbeat disposition in life, her generosity and compassion especially to
the underprivileged, can perhaps be partly attributed to the fact that she grew
up in a happy environment, where she and brother, Quark, were showered with
affection by their parents and grandparents. At a time when their mom, Vicki,
was still in residency, and dad, Atom, was building a name for himself,
Cristalle and Quark basked in the love of their Belo grandparents.
It was, of course, a daunting time for the whole family when the power couple
split up. Cristalle remembers spending nights with her mom playing push and pull
(a game played with mahjong tiles), listening to Whitney Houston songs, sleeping
beside her mother and comforting the latter.
But all that's water under the bridge now as the friendship between the
ex-pair slowly began to blossom. "We figured that they're much better off as
friends than married," Cristalle affirms.
Meanwhile, Cristalle has made a name for herself in the beauty scene. So has
her brother, Quark, who is one of the country's most sought-after film
directors. Cristalle gives due credit to their parents, whom she considers the
biggest influence in their life.
Tenacity, integrity, vision, fun, pursuit of excellence, curiosity and being
adventurous—these winning qualities propelled Cristalle's career to where it is
now. The young beauty exec has relinquished her post as general manager of Belo
Essentials to focus on the bigger picture. She is slowly involving herself not
only in Intelligent Skin Care, Inc., the consumer arm of Belo, but also in Belo
Medical Group. She also jumpstarted Sexy Solutions, a center which offers
non-invasive procedures tied in with a diet program. For this new "baby," the
company has sought the expertise of Nadine Tengco, the nutritionist of The
Biggest Loser: Pinoy Edition.
Consequently, one of society's most desirable bachelorettes (she's single!)
is not resting on her laurels. In fact, she just finished her MBA at the
University of Western Australia and is bent on taking a course in Luxury
Branding in Paris.
Cristalle avers, "This all stems from, 'To whom much is given, much is
expected.' I have been blessed with so much that my heart is overflowing with
love. I want to help in my own little way and I want to glorify God with the
talents and abilities He has blessed me with. As people see and acknowledge what
I have done, the credit doesn't go to me, but to Him."
As she continues to polish her gifts, Cristalle Henares is proving to all and
sundry that she is a shining jewel, a gem all her own.
