PACQUIAO'S OPINION ON THE RH BILL / SNOBBED BY MANILA POLO CLUB?

Pacquiao just got another victory from a fight against Shane Mosley last May 7 and now he is heading its way to magnify his political duty.
The pound-for-pound king of boxing is now ready to face the greatest issue discussed in the Philippines regarding the Reproductive Health Bill also known as the RH Bill.
As the representative of Saranggani Province, Pacquiao was questioned on what will be his stand regarding the RH Bill issue.
With that, Pacquiao declared his aversion to the rising issue and declared that the RH bill will not be able to solve poverty in the Philippines. Instead, he told the media about his view that country faces the problem on corruption.
After the taping of RH Bill: The Grand Debate, Pacquiao added that the country should first unite on helping poor people by focusing on how to stop corruption before moving on to the implementation of the RH Bill.
As a devout Catholic, Pac-Man firmly stands on his faith saying that the RH Bill is against the law of God.
The boxer suggests that a proper education regarding the use of contraceptives must be given since most of the people have already been using it nowadays.
On the other hand, the House Bill No. 4244 likewise known as the Reproductive Health Bill is a Philippine bill which intends to give extensive access to birth control information and methods as well as for maternal care.
And now, RH Bill: The Grand Debate will be there to generate opinions on both sides. RH Bill supporters will include Bishop Efraim Tendero, Representative Janet Garin and Pia Arroyo-Magalona.
Meanwhile, the anti-RH Bill includes Bishop Ted Bacani, Representative Mitos Magsaysay and Professor Aliza Racelis.
To give further insights will be the panellists namely Bishop Deogracias Iniguez, Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel, Carlos Celdran, and Dean Antonio Torralba.

Pacman was turned down membership at elite's Manila Polo Club
MANILA, Philippines – An unnamed board member of the exclusive Manila Golf Club (MGC) refuted reports that it rejected the membership application of eight division world boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
In a PEP report published on July 20, the board member clarified that Pacquiao submitted an application only to the Manila Polo Club (MPC), another elite club based in Forbes Park, Makati City.
More, the board member also offered a reason why MPC might not have allowed Pacquiao to join their prestigious group. "It's a small club in a small village. They want to preserve a lifestyle," the board member said, as quoted in PEP.
Recall that in mid-June this year, Pacquiao confirmed buying a mansion at Forbes' Cambridge Circle, which is said to be worth about 388 million pesos.
On its official website, the MPC maintained that its members "are mainly classified as the country's A-listers belonging to the influential and affluent level of the Philippine status quo.
"Political personalities, business icons and heads of mission make up the diverse yet unified body of the club membership."
The board member further explained that such exclusive clubs are strict with their members bringing in a big number of "guests, bodyguards, or in Pacqiuao's case, an entire entourage." He added that not even the President of the Philippines and the Mayor of Makati, honorary members of the MGC, are excused from this rule.
This clarification comes after sportswriter Recah Trinidad ran an item in the Philippine Daily Inquirer website on July 11, quoting the reaction of "golf godfather Louise Reyes" on "the controversial vote that deprived national treasure Manny Pacquiao of membership in an exclusive country club." Trinidad wrote:
"Rod Feliciano and I are pissed. Manila Golf Club and Manila Polo Club rejected the membership of Manny Pacquiao. Damned elitists. Manny earned his fortune without stealing from the Filipino and brought pride and glory for Pinoys. How many members of the club can claim the same? How idiotic. They deserve to be censured."
Michael Marley (former sports columnist at the New York Post and operator of BoxingConfidential.com) of The Examiner likewise aired his ire towards those he called "fat cats" and "a bunch of divotheads."
"Clearly, this is prejudice based on pedigree.
"Either that, or you must be very rich AND have won world ring titles in nine weight divisions before you can qualify for the privilege of membership," he also wrote in an article entitled, "Manila fat cats reject Manny Pacquiao, his Pinoy blood not rich enough for them."
Pacquiao and the MPC have yet to air their respective sides.

MANILA, Philippines – Superstar boxer-politician Manny Pacquiao is surprised by reports that his supposed application for membership at the Manila Polo Club (MPC) was rejected.
The world champ clarified the issue in an interview aired on "Paparazzi," July 24, blurting, "Hindi ko po alam 'yan balitang 'yan ano, at saka wala naman kaming, hindi naman ako nag-apply, wala naman akong… hindi ko nga alam, ba't saan ba lumabas 'yung balitang-balita?"
Initial reports indicate that Pacquiao has applied for membership both at the MPC and another elite group, the Manila Golf Club (MGC). A board member of the MPC told PEP, however, that Pacquiao has applied only to the MPC, which is based in Forbes Park in Makati City where the pound-for-pound king had bought his multi-million-peso mansion.
The said board member also deemed that Pacquiao's purported application might've been denied because "It's a small club in a small village. They want to preserve a lifestyle."
Speaking of his P388 million Forbes abode, Pacquiao doesn't seem troubled with analysts' reports that he got duped with the price.
"Alam mo okay lang 'yon, ako hindi naman ako marunong mag-take-advantage sa kapwa. Walang problema. Wala akong idea about properties eh, kung magkano 'yung presyo e di 'yun na 'yun. Kung nalamangan man ako e 'di kasalanan ko 'yon [dahil] nagpalamang ako, at wala nang problema do'n," he related.
The boxer, who is also a TV host and actor, meanwhile, cried foul over the issue that he's among the congressmen with the most number of absences during sessions.
"Hindi lang siguro nila ako nakikita sa floor but palagi akong nasa opisina. Tingnan muna nila 'yung record kung sino ang pinakamaraming absent tsaka sila maglabas [ng report]. Hindi 'yung haka-haka o mga salita-salita lang, mga kuwento. Dapat titingnan natin'yung tama na talagang balita na ilalabas natin," he said.
The list of congressmen with the highest number of absences, which was reported almost two weeks ago, is said to have been based from the House of Representatives' records from July 2010 to June 2011, as reported by Interaksyon.com. Pacquiao is said to have missed 26 out of the 70 sessions in congress.
Parrying off another rumor, Pacquiao likewise simply brushed off rumors that he has a spat with one of TV5's biggest stars, Willie Revillame.
"Wala kahit sinuman, kahit sa Channel 5, sa ABS[-CBN], wala. Sa atin is hangga't tumutulong tayo sa tao, masaya tayo," he said.
Although controversies continue to hound him left and right, Pacquiao devotes his energy instead on giving back [to others]. He is, in fact, one of the newest hero ambassadors of the Habitat for Humanity.
"Ako, from nothing talaga to something na talagang nagsikap, nagtrabaho, lahat; at ngayon maganda ang buhay at gusto kong ibalik 'yun sa pamamagitan ng [pagbigay ng] tulong at serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan," the highly-admired pugilist related.
Meanwhile, in a separate report on "Paparazzi," Brian Viloria is "honored" and "humbled" to have received praise from the eight-division champ and Sarangani representative himself.
With Viloria's recent victory against Julio Cesar Miranda of Mexico—which earned him his third title, WBO Flyweight Champion—many hope that the "Hawaiian Punch" will become as successful as Pacquiao.
"It's a big shoe to fill in, like with Manny, [and] all the other great Filipino fighters… I'm just trying to do my best at what I do, trying not to let anything out there to distract me. Manny is a great fighter. I always enjoy watching him fight also and I always look forward to him when he fights great title fights the way he does," he told "Paparazzi."
For his next fight, Viloria said he's willing to battle it out with anybody.
On a lighter note, when asked who he thinks could play him if his life is turned into a movie, Viloria considers singer-composer-comedian Ogie Alcasid since "a lot of people are saying I kinda look like [him]…"
Jinkee Pacquiao nixes live guesting on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' Posted on May 30, 2011 by Manila Bulletin Reporter
MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao's wife has passed off the chance to guest on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" – for a reason.
"Ano lang, kasi live. Sabi ko ayoko nang live. First time ko 'yung magge-guest sa Amerika tapos sa CBS pa tapos live. Sabi ko, ayoko nang live hindi ako sanay," she explained on "Showbiz Central," May 29.
Jinkee hesitates because she lacks good command of English, as she, herself, admits.
"Siyempre, English 'yon so baka magno-nosebleed ako. Hindi ako fluent sa Ingles. Inaamin ko naman 'yon. Basta, naging totoo lang naman ako na baka ano 'yung masasabi ko. Ayokong magkamali, eh," she humbly said.
Although "nanghinayang din ako pero naintindihan naman nila," Jinkee still welcomes the possibility of one day guesting on "Ellen."
"Pag taping lang na, ano, okay lang sa akin. Pero 'pag live talaga… takot kasi akong magkamali, eh. Parang ayokong ma-criticize ng tao."
"The next time baka handa na ako sa gano'n," she said.
Of late, Pinoy performers who have guested live on "Ellen" were Charice Pempengco, Ralph Salazar and Arnel Pineda of Journey.
In the taped interview, Jinkee addressed accusations that questions her penchant for shopping. Most of her acquisitions include the most expensive signature bags, shoes, accessories and clothes.
Pacman's wife is not at all offended by the "Material Girl" tag some gave her.
"Hindi naman. May kanya-kanya naman tayong opinion sa isang tao. Pero hayaan na lang natin kung 'yon ang opinion nila," she said.
During Manny's last fight with Sugar Shane Mosley, Jinkee met hotel heiress and socialite Paris Hilton who promised that she will visit the country soon.
To this, Jinkee said, "If ever talaga na matuloy siya ia-announce ko para at least alam ng mga tao talaga na pupunta siya dito. Last naming usap nu'ng umalis ako after the fight, pabalik ng Pilipinas. 'Yun lang 'yung last kasi nahihiya naman akong… alam mo 'yun, 'yung parang mauna akong mag-text. Baka busy 'yung tao."
