JENNYLYN MERCADO NOT YET OFFICIALLY ON WITH LUIS MANZANO

MANILA, JULY 5, 2011 (MALAYA) MARIO BAUTISTA ('We're not on, kasi ayoko pa mag-commit. Hindi pa ako ready for another relationship, kaya single pa rin ako. –Jennylyn Mercado')

JENNYLYN MERCADO said she is very excited with her new project, "Futbolilits" with Raymart Santiago that will replace "Magic Palayok," which airs weeknights on GMA-7's Telebabad before "24 Oras."

"Gusto ko na talagang magkaroon ng regular soap after I guested in 'Captain Barbell'," she said. "I'm happy dahil iyong mga ka-trabaho ko rito, puro naka-trabaho ko na in the past, kaya very comfortable kami sa taping."

Is it true that she and Luis Manzano are officially on now and that Luis could already sleep over at her house? "That's not true. May sarili siyang bahay, noh! We're not on, kasi ayoko pa mag-commit. Hindi pa ako ready for another relationship, kaya single pa rin ako."

"I don't deny naman that I enjoy Luis' company, kasi masayahin siya. I like his sense of humor, pero hanggang dun na lang muna dahil hindi naman ako nagmamadali. If ever I'd get into another relationship, hindi ko ito mamadaliin. I want to make sure na magkakilala muna kami nang husto bago maging seryoso."

How about Dennis Trillo, does she want to speak with him? "Nasabi ko na everything I need to say sa Yes! magazine. Binati ko na rin siya ng Happy Father's Day sa 'Showbiz Central,' so hanggang dun na lang muna. Basta, I've moved on."

OYO SOTTO is excited with his action role in TV5's "Bangis" that airs after "Wil Time Bigtime."

In the series, Oyo plays as Leon, a famed wild animal hunter, somewhat like Indiana Jones, who is on a mission to capture a giant crocodile who brings fears to Sitio Talim.

Oyo obviously worked out a lot lately since he's more muscular now. He also sports a moustache and goatee to make him look more rugged and mature for the role. Oyo said he is ready to do his own fight scenes and stunts.

"This is my first daily TV series kasi yung 'Midnight DJ,' which ran for three years, once a week lang," he said. "I'm really thankful to TV5 for trusting me and giving me this big action-adventure project based on the novel of Direk Carlo J. Caparas."

Oyo is paired with Danita Paner and they are supported by Felix Roco, Katherine Luna, Wendy Valdez, Rodjun Cruz, Yul Servo, Miriam Quiambao, Bayani Agbayani, Marissa Sanchez, CJ Caparas, Jazz Ocampo, Mavi Lozano, Danny Javier, and Tessie Tomas.

A TV5 co-production with Double Vision, "Bangis" is helmed by two of the industry's in-demand directors – Topel Lee and Robert Quebral.

How does it feel that your wife Kristine Hermosa is pregnant now? "I'm so inspired to work kasi excited na ko maging daddy. Nagkaroon ng konkretong direksiyon ang buhay ko and each time I get my earnings, I think of my family. Kristine is due to deliver our first born in January next year, probably around the 15th."

"Nakakatuwa kasi ako, January 12 ang birthday ko. Malay natin, magmadali ang baby para sabay kami ng birthday. My ultimate goal is to buy our own house and lot, kaya lalo akong nagsisipag mag-trabaho ngayon."

TOM RODRIGUEZ said he's glad that ABS-CBN allowed him to appear in different shows of GMA-7 to promote his latest movie "Temptation Island," which opens in theatres nationwide starting Wednesday. He also got to appear in some of TV5 shows.

If ever he'd be marooned in an island like what happened to them in the movie, who would he choose among the five girls in the cast? "Si Solenn Heussaff since pareho kami ng background. Foreigners ang mga fathers namin, kaya nagkakaintindihan kami," he said.

Just like Solenn who has no qualms about disrobing, did he mind parading in some scenes clad in a brief? How did he prepare for it? "Sa room pa lang namin sa Ilocos, talagang naka-brief na ako lagi, para masanay ako at 'di ma-conscious."

During the interview, his co-star John Lapus barged in and revealed that he's Tom's roommate in Playa Tropical Resort Hotel, where they all stayed.

"At ang laki ng nota ni Tom," John said. "Naalala ko, foreigner nga pala ang tatay niya. Namana po ni Tom ang sandata ng Amerikano niyang ama. Huwag na tayo magkunwari. Prangkahan na tayo rito."

So, wasn't he tempted to make a pass at Tom? "Naku, parang anak-anakan lang ang turing ko diyan. Mas nagkamalisya pa ako kay Mikael Daez dahil boyfriend ko siya dito sa movie. Lagi ko siya ka-eksena rito. Paki-quote ninyo po ako diyan."

How about with his other male co-stars like Aljur Abrenica? "Ang tingin ko sa kanya, totoy pa, kaya wala ako ni katiting na malisya sa kanya," said John.

"Si Mikael, ang tawag sa akin, ate. So, gusto ko malaman niya ang ate niya, may pagnanasa sa kanya. Patawarin ninyo po ako. Makasalanan po akong bakla."

PAOLO BEDIONES is hosting one of TV5's biggest shows entitled "Extreme Make Over Home Edition."

"Extreme Make Over" is a hit show in various countries where homes of favored people are renovated and reconstructed.

"It will be the first time that the show will be staged in Asia, but we have to change it a bit here," said Paolo.

"You have to own the lot, where you're house is located. We'll also try to give the winners some kind of livelihood," he added.

For his part, TV5 executive vice president and chief operating officer Bobby Barreiro said that choosing the families that they will be helping is a tedious process.

"We have to make sure that they are truly deserving at hindi makakasira sa buhay ng pamilya ang pagtulong namin. Many are qualified to have a good home, but we have to consider other factors," Barreiro said.

Meanwhile, Paolo said that he's happy with TV5.

"Ang bilis ng asenso. In a year, it became one of the top three players in our TV industry. We now have our round the clock multi-platform newscast and public service via Radyo Singko 92.3 FM that quickly became one of the top FM radio stations in Mega Manila," he said.

"I'm also happy that my investigative show 'USI' just won the Golden Dove award for Best Documentary. It's my validation as a broadcast journalist and no longer just as a TV host. I really enjoyed doing all the dangerous episodes we've shown na naging cave explorer pa ako… I even stayed in Sendai, Japan for five days after the killer earthquake and tsunami, and I also became an embalmer who slept in the morgue with four dead bodies na walang ibang kasama. I am also busy now with my own radio show, 'Sakto'."

When asked about his love life, Paolo said he's too busy to devote time for it at the moment. "My social life suffered talaga. Lagi akong pagod. I discovered pa that I have sleep apnea. It's a breathing disorder during sleep. When you have the disorder, your breathing actually stops or gets very shallow as you sleep. I underwent a test and the longest that I'm not breathing is about 48 seconds. Dahil dito, I can't sleep straight, very restless."

"But when my doctor gave me a machine to ensure that my airways are clear, nakakatulog na ko ng mahimbing… I can do more work now."

Well, it's obvious that Paolo is a workaholic person, who prefers having more work than having a love life.
