TRIBUNE EDITORIAL: MORONIC LOGIC
MANILA, JULY 19, 2011 - (TRIBUNE) Proof that Noynoy and his mouthpieces accuse without evidence and without as much as a background check on a issue but load this with sarcasm, was much too evident in the way they handled the Marine colonel's conditional call for a change of the Aquino government.
Noynoy's mouthpiece Abigail Valte intimated that the brains behind the Marine official's ouster call is former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Arroyo.
As she was quoted in reports, Valte, the resident Lady Gaga in Malacañang, sarcastically said that Col. Generoso Mariano "can start working full time for Rep. (Gloria) Arroyo after he retires, but not while he is still in active duty."
What basis does Valte have in saying that Mariano can start working full time for Gloria? None, but this administration appears to think that it can accuse anyone without any evidence.
She then clarified that her statement was not based on any intelligence report but "based on what her allies have been saying so far and what Colonel Mariano has been saying so far. It is easy to tell who is behind this."
Easy to tell? Valte's logic is moronic. She has absolutely no evidence except her very faulty powers of deduction and she immediately accuses a person — in this case, Gloria Arroyo — of being the brains behind the call for a change of government? She put two and two together, and ended up getting 10.
Is she also saying that those who say Noynoy is a do nothing, know nothing president are allies of Gloria and are also using the military to air similar statements? But it's that easy to tell just how idiotic their logic is and how much of the principle of somos o no somos is ingrained in the Noynoy administration.
If Valte, who officially speaks for Noynoy and therefore statements she makes are officially Noynoy's, even bothered to check, she would have been told that the video where the call was made was during after a press conference of sorts where he was asked to repeat his speech that contained a conditional statement for a change of government being the right of the people.
As for distributing the video and going viral, to pin it on Gloria is just as irresponsible of Noynoy's administration. Valte also has no proof of this, but accuses anyway, which is really yet another of the Noynoy style of accusing, trying and convicting by publicity.
Yet this Noynoy style of immediately jumping to conclusions without even bothering to check on the facts is worrisome, because this is apparently how he and his people in Malacañang go about the business of destroying reputations and accusing their political foes and critics without proof.
This was already evident in the case of the seven bishops accused by Margie Juico and her Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office which Noynoy quickly rode on.
This is also evident in the fact that despite pronouncements of Noynoy and his aides that they have the goods on Gloria or her allies and that charges are forthcoming with the appointment of a new Ombudsman, it is clear that they merely rely on these Senate investigations to bring these out, and from there, would already convict them by publicity.
This also seems to be the same style being applied by Noynoy and his aides in cancelling approved contracts, merely saying that these are anomalous even in the absence of proof.
It is to be recalled that during his maiden State of the Nation Address where he was just less than a month in office, he already announced the unilateral cancelation of the Belgian firm's dredging of the Laguna Lake, saying this was an anomalous contract. Obviously, he didn't even have the proof of the anomaly.
Now comes the idiotic conclusion of who the brains behind the ouster call is.
Still, they really must be forgiven their moronic ways, since they appear to have been unnerved by the video of a Marine official's call for a change of government.
What Noynoy and his aides should be more scared of are their do nothing ways which could well lead to his ouster in the future.
