RUFA MAE: A LOVELESS LOVELY LADY
MANILA, JUNE 27, 2011 (MALAYA) BY ROBBIE PANGILINAN - Sexy comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto celebrated her birthday with a surprise party thrown by Dr. Manny Calayan, beauty doctor to the stars and founder of the Calayan Surgicentre where Rufa Mae goes for her skin care.
The party, held at 7th High Street at the Fort, was attended by Rufa's celebrity friends and members of the entertainment press.
Eddie Gutierrez and Annabel Rama came with son Raymond; also there were Calayan endorsers Vice Ganda, Maxene Magalona, Mr. Fu, Icy Mendoza, Angelica Jones, Jon Avilla, Andrew Wolf, Paolo Paraiso, Ogie Diaz, Alice Dixson, Bangs Garcia, Amir Agassi, Vina Morales, singer Selina and her partner Lalen Calayan, who is Doc Manny's niece, and Rufa's former flame Eric Santos.
Special guests were RJ Oriel, son of Asian Journal president Roger Oriel, Mian , Kathy Alejar, Led Sobrepeña from the Singing Bee, Rey Pumaloy, Liza Andaya, Jun Lalin, ABS-CBN's Ginger Conejero, Alex Datu, GMA's Nelson Canlas, TV5's Jeff, Malaya's Robbie Pangilinan, and Grace Andaya.
The lovely celebrant admitted that she is loveless.
"Loveless pero happy ako ngayon," she said, adding that she is not in a hurry to fall in love again.
She said she is not yet thinking about entering into a relationship again even though many admirers have come forward to court her.
Asked if she's afraid of love, Rufa said she just got tired of exerting effort. She said she just wants to travel and do many other things.
She dedicated her birthday party to her grandmother, who is turning 86 this month, and thanked Dr. Manny and Pie Calayan for the surprise.
