MANILA, Philippines – No amount of prodding can make the usually reactionary Kris Aquino comment on the rumored blossoming romance between her estranged husband James Yap and YouTube singing sensation Marie Digby.
"Du'n deadma talaga ako. Kung kay P-Noy deadma, mas deadma (ako) d'yan," Kris said in an interview aired on "Showbiz News Ngayon," May 31.
The buzz started when Ogie Diaz was asked by a fan if something romantic brews between James and Marie. Ogie said on Twitter: "May nagtanong lang sa akin kung nililigawan ni James Yap si Marie Digby. Ka-chat sa fb at txtmates dw sila. Pano na daw si [actress-model] Isabel Oli?"
The rumor grew when it was reported that James was in Cebu about the same time Marie was there, too.
"Relaxing with my family in beautiful Cebu! We lucked out with this gorgeous weather," Marie posted on Twitter last Sunday.
Refusing to make anymore statements about the gossip, Kris is adamant in not prying into her estranged husband's privacy.
"Let him have his privacy. The very fact na hiwalay already gives him some measure of privacy that he didn't have when we were married," she said.
Asked if "sila (James) na ba ni Marie," Kris stood firm on her 'no comment' stance.
"Ayoko nang sagutin. Tama na," she said, then pretending to snub the reporter. "Biglang gano'n talaga, 'di ba? Akala n'yo mapapaikot n'yo 'ko. Hindi talaga. No!"
Not giving up, the staff asked whom she would like James to end up with---Isabel Oli, long rumored to be the basketball player's girlfriend; or Marie, said to be Sam Milby's ex-girlfriend.
"Wala akong boto. Wala akong karapatang bumoto dahil siya later on in life ayokong magboto-boto siya sa lovelife ko. No. No. Ayoko. Wala akong boto," Kris wailed.
Noting her beautiful aura during the interview, Kris was asked if her own love life is on the upswing.
"Wala. Hindi, wala talaga, wala," Kris said matter-of-factly. "Kung meron, if it would happen in my life again at ma-bless ako, sa show ko na po sasabihin 'yon. Sa July, abangan n'yo po," she said, displaying the savvy media personality she's been known for.
She shared how she feels about being romantically linked to Sen. Chiz Escudero.
"Clueless talaga kasi obviously it did not come from me. Nobody close to me, because nobody close to me has ever seen him with me. So wala, hindi ko talaga alam kung sino ang nagsimula. Pero 'yun nga, parang natatawa na lang kami talaga kasi hindi talaga siya [the rumor] namamatay."
