PHNO-SB: ROBIN`S LAST WIFE

ROBIN`S LAST WIFE

MANILA, APRIL 14, 2011 (MALAYA) MARIO BAUTISTA ('We're sure Binoe will have no problem with that as he already declared several times that Mariel will surely be the last woman in his life.')

AT the presscon of their film "Tum," Robin Padilla said he plans to have a church wedding with Mariel Rodriguez this coming June after their Muslim wedding at the Taj Mahal last August. But it seems this won't push through, not because "Tum" is reportedly lukewarmly received at the tills, but because Lingayen Archbishop Oscar Cruz said the Catholic Church won't allow it since Robin is a Muslim and the Catholic Church, which fosters monogamy, doesn't agree with Islamic Law where a husband can have more than one wife. But the bishop added that they might still approve the wedding if Robin can make a vow that his marriage with Mariel will be his last. We're sure Binoe will have no problem with that as he already declared several times that Mariel will surely be the last woman in his life.

Gerald Anderson makes it clear that he's not leaving showbiz to be a basketball player for the NLEX team that will play in the PBA D-League as some writers earlier reported. "I'm just playing with their team and I'm thankful na pinapayagan nila ako to play with them kasi bago ako nag-artista, basketball was my passion," he says. "But now na sobrang blessed ako sa showbiz, ayokong iwanan kung anuman meron ako ngayon dito."

And it's true. The big success of his rom-com with Sarah Geronimo has just established him as a bankable leading man, so why would he leave showbiz now that his career is peaking? With regard to his lovelife, after Kim Chiu and Bea Alonzo, he claims he's loveless at the moment and is still waiting for the right girl at the right time.

After having co-hosts in "Sis" and "Love ni Mister," how does Carmina Villaroel feel now that she goes solo in hosting "Amazing Cooking Kids"?

"I'm excited. Nalungkot akong wala na ang 'Love ni Mister,' but I realized ganun naman talaga ang shows, they come and go, but at least, we were given ni Zoren (Legaspi) the chance to host together and we really enjoyed doing it for seven months. So itong 'Amazing Cooking Kids' is a new experience for me, a new challenge. Hindi ako nagluluto kaya ako'ng ginawang host. Pero bilib ako sa child contestants namin, grabe, ang gagaling talaga nila magluto even if the recipe is complicated at hindi ako nagsasawang tikman lahat ng dishes that they cook in the show. Feeling ko nga, by the end of the show, tataba ako. Pero mahirap maging solo host kasi wala kang kabatuhan. Afterwards, nakakasakit ng lalamunan dahil mag-isa akong dumadaldal. But being with these talented kids compensate for it. Masaya silang katrabaho at parang naglalaro lang kami, ako 'yung mother hen who takes good care of them. Naging close na nga kami dahil nagkukuwento na sila sa'kin about their personal lives. My worry is kapag nagsimula na ang tanggalan two weeks from now. Tiyak, ako mauunang iiyak ako kapag nabawasan na sila as I can see my own two kids in them. I'm sure magiging emotional ako."

"Amazing Cooking Kids" starts airing this Saturday just before "Eat Bulaga" on GMA-7.

Nora Aunor confidante Albert Sunga is the marketing manager-publicist of acoustic singer Dorothy Galvez, better known as Suy. He has arranged for Suy's first show abroad on May 14 in the Pinoy Musik Festival in New Jersey.

"First time ko sa US kaya excited ako," says Suy.

We told Albert he should arrange for Suy to sing with Ate Guy. "Sana nga, kaya lang, baka nandito na si Ate Guy sa Pilipinas that time," he says. "But Suy will return sa US on August 20 and 21 for the Philippine Fiesta in Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ so baka puede na silang magkita roon ni Ate Guy."

Last year, Suy launched her first album, "Simply Suy" for Ivory Records and it spawned hits like "More than Words" and "Simple Lang." In her new album, "Suy Under Covers," she does acoustic versions of very new songs from today's singers like Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" with a music video that reveals she's addressing the song to her ailing mother now undergoing dialysis, played by Gloria Sevilla in the MTV. The album was launched on the day of Bruno's Manila concert and Albert said he personally invited the Fil-Am singer to be in Suy's album launch but he was busy rehearsing for the show. Suy also does her version of Justin Bieber's "Pray," Katie Perry's "Fireworks" and "Teenage Dream," Beyonce's "Halo," "Dynamite," "Empire State of Mind Part 2," "Mine," "Need You Now," "Ridin' Solo," "Speak Now," "Cooler Than Me," "Sweet Dreams," "Smile" and "The Only Exception." Her album will be launched in "ASAP" this Sunday then she'll guest in "Music Uplate" on Tuesday. Suy sings every Wednesday night at Panggo's Grille on Morato Avenue but on April 15, Friday, she'll have a very special show, "Acoustic Night with the Acoustic Gem," in the same venue. On May 10, she'll have a concert at the Parke Rizal in Tayabas, Quezon with co-Ivory artists Shane Tarun and Kristoff Medina. For booking, call Albert at 0919-570-5892 or email asmangel1217@yahoo.com.

German Moreno got Nora Aunor's trophy when she won as one of Philippine Cinema's icons in the recent Golden Screen Awards. He then interviewed her on the phone in his radio show as arranged by devoted Noranian Albert Sunga. Although Albert says she'd be home by May, looks like her fans will have to wait some more before she finally comes home. Nora said she doesn't know yet when she'll return. "Basta uuwi ako kasi gustong-gusto kong makita ang mga kapatid at mga anak ko," she said.

She says her singing voice is okay but she needs therapy and should stop smoking. "Mahirap tigilan," she added. She admits going to the casino every now and then, but she never borrows or ask money from fellow Pinoys just to gamble. "Hindi ako nangungutang para mag-casino. Meron naman akong natatanggap."

Is she really a caregiver. "If it's true, masama bang mag-caregiver? Pero kung mas malaki pa sa'kin ang bubuhatin, makakaya ko ba 'yan? May mga tao lang talagang 'di titigil hanggang di nasisiraan ang kanilang kapwa. Alam ko namang may mga pagkakamali din ako. Tao lang naman po akong nagkakamali tulad ng iba pang normal na tao. Pero sana, huwag nila akong husgahan ng ganun-ganon na lang. Wala akong kalaban-laban."

So Ate Guy, you better come home soon so you defend yourself directly and answer all allegations against you. This will also be a test case if all your Noranians will still be there to support and make any film, TV show or concert that you'd do a big hit.

Pokwang is just too happy to be given the chance to work with Vic Sotto in "Pak, Pak, My Dr. Kwak." "First time ko to work with him and nakakatuwa as it gave me the chance na makabati si Joey de Leon who is a guest star in our movie," she says. Wala siyang kaere-ere.

After this, Pokwang is said to be ready for her own launching film. Both Viva Entertainment and Star Cinema think she's ripe to follow in the footsteps of Ai Ai de las Alas and Eugene Domingo as a solo comedienne.
