While the rest of humanity were hugging and kissing and whispering sweet nothings to one another on Valentine's Day, an actor/TV-host (whom I will call Las Vegas) was weeping over a four-year romance gone to rocks.
You see, his heart was (irreparably?) broken when he confirmed what he had been suspecting all along — his actress-girlfriend (whom I will call Anchorage Alaska), at 38, eight years his senior, is having an affair with a fiftyish businessman separated from his wife with whom he has children. Was it due to necessity (as in dala ng matinding pangangailangan) since the man, as confirmed by Las Vegas, has been giving Anchorage Alaska expensive gifts (a car, etc.), with a franchise to a resto business almost a done deal?
Anchorage Alaska, who is gifted with a classic face and immense acting ability, has children from a failed marriage and it was okay with Las Vegas. According to the Funfare Update VDPA (Very Deep Penetration Agent), Anchorage Alaska was willing to have a child with Las Vegas but he begged off — no, not out of wedlock. He was ready, willing and able to marry her, and then…
I wonder, what would Las Vegas do with the wedding ring he was eager to slip into Anchorage Alaska's finger?
How did Las Vegas confirm Anchorage Alaska's illicit affair?
"Through the e-mail exchanges between her and the businessman," said the VDPA.
Now, the businessman wants to go back to his other pretty (non-showbiz) girlfriend who works for a top accounting firm.
James gives Kris a bracelet
Although both loveless (as reported by Funfare Update yesterday), Kris Aquino and James Yap spend Valentine's together with their kids Joshua and Baby James (Bimby) last Sunday, eve of Kris' (40th) birthday and the Day of Hearts. It was a double celebration for the un-couple as James celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday.
James was not present at an advance birthday dinner Kris hosted at her home with friends and family members Saturday night. The un-couple had dinner Sunday night at a Japanese restaurant in Makati City.
"James gave me a very nice bracelet with a sincere card attached to the gift," Kris told Funfare Update.
As Funfare Update also reported yesterday, James spent his birthday at an orphanage where Bimby gave away toys. Kris and her sons also did an outreach project in Tarlac last Saturday.
Incidentally, the un-couple's legal problems have been sorted out. Sorry but I can't spill out the details just yet. Suffice it to say that Kris and James are happy with the outcome.
Manny and Jinkee's stateside Valentine's
Another happy couple, Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao, spent Valentine's Day in New York where they were scheduled to meet Feb. 15 with high-ranking government officials (possibly led by Pres. Barrack Obama). They attended the last of the three-day promo tour for Pacquiao's bout with Shane Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
"The event was open to the public," reported Felix Manuel, one of Funfare Update's "beauty experts." "Filipinos trooped to the Lighthouse, a 10,000-square-foot space for private gatherings, located at Chelsea Piers in New York City. Two hours before the event, eager kababayan, some of them have traveled from as far as Virginia, started queuing at the venue."
Since the promo fell on Valentine's Day, the organizers surprised the couple with a cake. Jinkee was asked to join Manny onstage and then they kissed twice as requested by the media.
Added Felix, "Asked by the media what was Manny's Valentine gift to her, Jinkee said that all his gifts are important to her but the most important of all is his undying love for her."
The couple traveled to Washington D.C. immediately after the event via a special train, aptly called Pacquiao Express, from the New York Penn Station. A special Valentine dinner awaited the couple when they reached their destination.
