MANILA, FEBRUARY 8, 2011 (STAR) FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo - While lovers (and "other strangers") will be filling up hotels and motels in the Metropolis and the venues of Valentine's shows of both local and foreign artists, lovebirds Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban will renew their pledges of love for each other in the romantic ambience of Bali, Indonesia, their first out-of-town trip after the one in South Africa last year where they witnessed the World Cup.
Derek revealed to Funfare his and Angelica's Valentine's getaway when he and fellow talents under Jojie Dingcong — Matteo Guidicelli, John James Uy and Bianca Manalo — paid The STAR a surprise visit last Wednesday and treated the Entertainment staff to bilao-ful of spaghetti, palabok and lechon, and a box-ful of pichi-pichi.
After turning The STAR office upside-down with their presence, with the employees having a field day posing for photographs with them, Derek, Matteo, John and Bianca sat for a "quickie" interview on how they planned to spend Valentine's Day.
Who is your Valentine?
Derek: Siempre, si Angelica.

John: My girlfriend Regine (Angeles)[PHOTO AT RIGHT].
Bianca: None. (She denied rumors linking her to James Yap.)
Matteo: This year? Wala.
Describe your ideal Valentine's date.
Bianca: Any dinner would do with a guy who is mabait and mapagmahal. But this Feb. 14, since I don't have a Valentine, maybe I'll go out with my friends.
Matteo: Siempre mabait na babae at maganda, magaling umarte, magaling sumayaw at magaling kumanta. On Feb. 14, I'll be shooting my movie with Maja (Salvador).
Derek: Angelica and I are going to Bali. We are renting a car and we're driving around the island. We'll be there from Feb. 13 to 17. It's our first time to celebrate Valentine's out of town in the five years that we've been going steady. Every Valentine's Day kasi, we usually host a party for autistic children. We're doing it in advance this year, on Feb. 10, in two schools.
John: Regine and I will have a dinner date. We've been going steady for one year and two months.
What's your favorite love song and why?
John: I hate love songs. I don't know why. Maybe because I like rock songs. Oh yes, I like Somebody To Love by Queen and The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. I sing that to Regine; I used to sing it to my exes. How may "exes" do I have? Siguro mga six.
Bianca: So Close by Jon McLaughlin. Why? Wala lang. You know, so close and yet so far. Someday, I'm gonna find him.
Matteo: When I Fall In Love. Why? It will be forever. Hehehehe!
Derek: I have a lot. But the one that comes to mind now is Inspiration by Chicago. Angelica and my theme song is You And Me by Lighthouse.
If you were to date another celebrity who would it be?
John: Secret!

Bianca: Hugh Jackman. I love him in Wolverine. I'd spend the day on the beach with him. He's a beach-lover and so am I.
Matteo: Jessica Alba. I'll bring her to Cebu, my hometown.
Derek (Joking): Inagawan ako ni Matteo — si Jessica Alba.
Matteo: Puwede naman kami mag-share, a! Hehehehe!
Derek: I would bring her to Palawan.
Matteo: After Jessica and I shall have fun in Cebu.
John: Wait, I'd love to go on a date with Natalie Portman.
Asked if he had seen Portman in Black Swan, her latest movie for which she's nominated for a Best Actress Oscar, John said, "Not yet but I've heard so much about it."
I guess John will love Portman all the more especially if he sees Portman's love scene with another woman that would put to shame all other daring-and-baring Hollywood scenes involving actors of the same sex. Shocking!!!
After the interview, Jojie's four alagas visited The STAR's other departments for more picture-taking, literally stopping the presses without their meaning to. Jojie and company were elated by the warmer-than-warm reception. Regine Angeles, John's girlfriend
