OGIE AND REGINE MAY TRY ARTIFICIAL MEANS TO GET PREGNANT
MANILA, JANUARY 18, 2011 (MALAYA) MARIO BAUTISTA ('Or we can adopt. – Regine Velasquez')
SO how's the start of 2011 for Sarah Geronimo?
"Joyful naman ang pasok ng new year for me," she says. "I've started shooting my new film for Direk Mae Cruz, with Gerald Anderson and Matteo Guidicelli. I'm recording a new album of all original songs. Tapos there's the Valentine concert with Martin Nievera, 'What Love Is,' on February 12 and I'm promoting the DVD of 'Sarah Geronimo Music Video Collection' just released by Viva. It has 23 tracks from 'To Love You More' and 'Forever's Not Enough' to 'I Still Believe in Loving You' and 'How Could You Say You Love Me.' You can trace the progress of my career here as it includes the music video for 'Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan' from my first movie 'Filipinas' in 2004 up to my hits with John Lloyd Cruz, 'Very Special Love' and 'You Changed My Life'."
What can she say about her rift with Cristine Reyes?
"New year na, let's start on the positive. Iwanan na ang mga intriga last year. Basta ako, I have a clean conscience. 'Yung sinabi ko about magagaling na dancers and sexy women, I meant it as a compliment, lalo kay John Prats. 'Di ko akalaing mabibigyan ng ibang kahulugan."
What if she'd bump into Cristine?
"Babatiin ko siya kasi wala naman akong ginawang masama sa kanya."
Isn't she worried about "Kimerald" fans ganging up on her now that she's paired with Gerald?
"I'm sure they'll understand trabaho lang ito. I'm excited. Parang when I was paired with John Lloyd, feeling ko ako si Bea Alonzo and with Sam Milby, ako si Anne Curtis. Ngayon naman, feeling ko, ako si Kim Chiu."

Regine Velasquez was in "Showbiz Central" last Sunday, her first live guesting since she officially became Mrs. Ogie Alcasid. Pia Guanio asked her what's the difference in her life now that she and Ogie are officially man and wife. "I became more aware that before I make plans, I have to consult my husband muna," she said. "And everywhere I go, hinahanap siya sa'kin. Saan si Ogie? Feeling ko nga, bag siya, o wallet. Eto, o. They all express their well wishes at naiyak daw sila nang mapanood ang wedding sa TV. Ang difference talaga sa'min ni Ogie, akala ko wala, but I can now feel mas na-in love pa ko sa kanya. He's sweet, really mabait, at mas naging claro sa'kin ang lahat. Tumaba nga ako, pero care ko. Dati, nade-depress ako 'pag tumaba ako. Ngayon, tinatawanan ko na lang. Nang magkasakit ako, binantayan niya ko. Sabi ko, ba't di ka pa matulog? Sabi niya, kasi you have fever."
They're open to artificial insemination if she wouldn't get pregnant by natural means. "Or we can adopt. Basta sa'kin, okay na kong natagpuan ko ang taong mamahalin ako, best friend ko pa. Okay na ko roon tutal mukha naman siyang baby."
Regine is now back to work taping for her new series with Dingdong Dantes, "I Heart U, Pare."

The other boxing champ, Nonito Donaire Jr., was reported in "Showbiz Central" to have been denounced by his own mother, Imelda Donaire. In an online interview, Nonito talked about his rift with his own dad who allegedly stole money from him, that he's not the favorite child of his parents, comes from a very poor family and his folks still can't accept his wife Rachel.
His mom said all this is not true and she can't tolerate his lying. The amount his dad got from him is said to be $240, used to feed his own boxing staff. Honestly, that's a very small amount for Nonito to get mad at his dad who raised him. His mom said they were not that poor since she's a teacher and his dad, a soldier, so there's always food on the table. It seems Nonito wants to make it appear that they're very poor like Manny Pacquiao's family who was deserted by his dad. His mom says they didn't play favorites with their kids and is surprised that he's jealous of his older brother Glenn who initially supported him when he was just starting as a boxer. She revealed that when she watched Nonito's fight in Manila, the dad of his wife Rachel gave her some rules like she can't go near her own son and ask something from him. When his dad got sick of a kidney ailment, they asked help from him and Nonito's reply is "If it's God's will, it is God's will."
Nonito's wife is also interviewed and she said the arguments are always about money as the mom always wants to know how much money Nonito has. All these stories will no doubt be very bad press for Nonito. He will always pale in comparison to Manny who is well known for being close and generous to members of his own family. And someone adds: "At ang misis ni Manny, hindi antipatika ang dating."

Richard Gutierrez' Valentine offering, "My Valentine Girls," refers to five different girls he works with in the trilogy: tot star Jillian Ward, Rhian Ramos, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff and Eugene Domingo. How will he describe each of them?
"Si Jillian, kasama ko in all the stories. Kakaiba siya sa lahat ng child stars na nakatrabaho ko. She's hyper, very talented, grabe ang energy and I don't know where she gets it. 'Pag may pinagawa sa kanya, she gets it right away after just one instruction. In one scene na iiyak siya, rehearsal pa lang, umiiyak na, so sabi namin, 'wag muna. Sa actual take, lalong ang galing sa dramatic scene niya. But after the scene, parang wala lang, balik agad sa usual hyper mode niya.
"As for Rhian, I'm her first leading man when she joined showbiz in 'Captain Barbell' so we're really comfortable with each other. Since then, she has matured so much as an actress. In our episode, 'Soul Mates,' she has become very passionate with her craft. Si Lovi, first time namin to work together and I'm excited as she's very hot right now. Magaling siyang artista, award winner, and we got to nail some very good scenes together. Love triangle kami with Solenn in the 'BBFF' episode. Si Solenn, this is her first try at acting and she was nervous at the start so I'm eager to help her as her first leading man. She's very good as a first timer. Very natural in her role as a sexy marine biologist.
"Si Miss Eugene naman, I enjoyed working with her sa 'Gunaw' episode as she has lots of positive energy. We had great fun working together as the last man and woman on earth tapos, mga kasama namin, puro zombies na. There's never a dull moment with her. She's a good comedienne so she also brings out the comedian in me. She has accomplished a lot as one of the greatest comediennes of this generation and she deserves all the success she's getting."
"My Valentine Girls" will open in theaters on February 9, directed by Dominic Zapata ("Soul Mates"), Andoy Ranay ("BBFF- Best Boy Friend Forever") and Chris Martinez ("Gunaw").

Jomari Yllana's Fearless Productions brings in foreign artists to do shows in Manila. What can he say about the proposal of local artists to limit such concerts here and make its producers pay higher taxes?
"Lahat naman 'yan, daraan sa lawmakers natin and whatever is approved by law, hindi kami kokontrang mga producers," he says. "Basta kung ano ang makakabuti for local artists, susunod kami. Actually, we also aim to produce the concerts of local artists to help them."
Jomari plays a good role in "Ikaw ang Pag-ibig" as a supportive doctor who marries Ina Feleo even if she has a dark past. The film is director Marilou Abaya's homage to Ina, the Virgin of Penafrancia in Naga, after she recovered from breast cancer in 2007. She also produced it with the Archbishop of Caceres, Most Reverend Leonardo Legaspi.
Marilou got a standing ovation after its preview that was attended by two national artists, Eddie Romero for film and Bien Lumbera for literature. Marilou's own son, David, is the cinematographer. Her other son, the actor-singer Marc, was also there to support their mom, with good friend Laurice Guillen, who is the mom of lead actress Ina Feleo.
Endorsed by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and rated A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, "Ikaw ang Pag-ibig" will first be exhibited in colleges then nationwide on February 23, to be released by Star Cinema.
Jomari is happy to be part of the film as he comes from a family of priests that extends to five generations back in Bicol. His great grandmother, Maria, was the official dresser of Ina during her time. "I've experienced being a part of the Penafrancia Festival in September when I was younger," he says. "Kasama ako sa prusisyon. Kaya I'm proud to be part of 'Ikaw ang Pag-ibig' that shows the devotion of Bicolanos to Ina."
THE OGIE-REGINE WEDDING LAST DECEMBER 2010
Ogie, Regine make wedding guests cry FUNFARE UPDATE By Ricardo F. Lo (The Philippine Star) Updated December 23, 2010 12:00 AM
[PHOTO - The wedding of the decade was solemnized at The Peak, Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Nasugbu, Batangas]
The wedding vows were so touching that the well-heeled guests couldn't help but cry.
The groom, Ogie Alcasid, 43, lovingly looked at his bride, Regine Velasquez, as he said in English, "I will be your Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber," and Regine, 40, her eyes fixed on her brand-new husband, answered in Tagalog, "Kuwarenta anyos na ako kaya pasensya na lang kung masungit ako kung minsan."
Recounted STAR contributor Girlie Rodis who was among the teary-eyed guests, "Not a pair of eyes was dry."
Then, Regine sang the APO song Di Ko Malimutan, part of which goes, …di ko maalaala kung kailan nagsimula, di ko malimutan kung kailan ko natikman ang tamis ng 'yong halik, yakap na napaka-higpit, pagibig na tunay hanggang langit…
The wedding, held at The Peak, Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Nasugbu, Batangas, as heavenly shades of night were falling late yesterday afternoon, was dubbed Wedding of The Decade. It will be shown as a TV special on Sunday, Dec. 26, on GMA with which the couple is under exclusive contract, with a wedding primer to be aired tomorrow in Startalk, also on GMA.
The radiant bride walked down the aisle to the tune of Ryan Cayabyab's wedding song Iniibig Kita.
Regine was the first-ever bride to wear a red wedding dress specially designed by Monique Lhuillier for reportedly $8,000 (although some people claimed it cost more), a gift for her by Dr. Vicki Belo who stood as one of the 20 principal sponsors who also included Regal Matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde, GMA big boss Felipe L. Gozon, GMA exec Wilma Galvante, TV5 boss Manny V. Pangilinan, Sharon Cuneta, Jose Mari Chan, Viva boss Vic del Rosario Jr., Tony Tuviera, German Moreno, Ida Henares, Nanette Inventor, Orlando Ilacad, Anastacia Puno, Dr. Crisanta Villanueva, US-based concert producer Ma. Rosario Legarda, Ronnie Henares, Freddie Santos and Michel Lhuillier and wife Amparito Llamas-Lhuillier (Monique's parents).
Ogie is an endorser of the Lhuillier string of pawnshops, so Monique accommodated Vicki's order for Regine's gown made last August when Regine, accompanied by Vicki, went to L.A. for her measurements.
Pres. Noynoy "P-Noy" Aquino was one of the groomsmen. He left soon after the ceremony and didn't attend the reception.
Ogie's ex-wife Michelle Van Eimeren was Candle Bearer with her husband Mark Morrow. It was Michelle who did the floral arrangement. When Michelle and Mark got married in Australia last year, Ogie and Regine were present. Leila Isabel, older of Michelle and Ogie's two daughters, was Maid of Honor. Sarah Kate, the other daughter, was Bible Bearer
The bride wore a pair of expensive boots which she playfully showed the guests by lifting the hemline of her gown.
In previous interviews with The STAR, Ogie and Regine revealed that they would have to postpone their honeymoon, most probably in Europe, to early next year. They planned to spend the next few days in Bohol, together with Michelle and Mark, plus Leila and Sarah Kate.
Regine admitted that she and Ogie have been living together since three years ago when news about their engagement leaked out in the media.
At the reception, Dingdong Avanzado, one of the groomsmen, dedicated Iibigin, a song he composed specially for the couple.
