LANI BALKS AT HOLDING SHOW WITHIN FOREIGN ARTISTS' RANGE

MANILA, JANUARY 10, 2011 (BULLETIN) By ANYA SANTOS – Lani Misalucha returns to the Philippines for a rare one-woman show.
"I'm always glad to be here," she tells "TV Patrol" on Jan. 5. "I'm very, very grateful that I would still feel their love."
Misalucha is slated to hold her show on Jan. 25 at Resorts World. Her first time to perform at the venue, Misalucha gushed, "Uy, ang ganda ng theater nila!"
Lani continues to enjoy huge success in Las Vegas, where she is now based. She says she's all the more proud to be back in the country.
Misalucha was reportedly happy to leave Nevada for now, being that it is winter there and it's been snowing. But snow isn't the only thing Misalucha wants to avoid.
The report also noted that she would rather not do Valentine shows this time, saying, "Ang hirap naman, ang daming foreign acts na darating. So paano ka makikipag-sabayan sa isang Taylor Swift, at saka sa isang Justin Bieber… my golly."
Her statement comes close on the heels of Kuh Ledesma spearheading a fight of sorts for local artists, calling on the regulation of the number of shows by foreign acts in the country.
Kuh also came out to specify that this is especially needed in February, when local artists would have to compete heavily with too many foreign acts doing Valentine shows here.
Misalucha is looking forward to sampling her brand of powerhouse singing anew on "Showtime," with Vice Ganda, whom she met during a concert series in the US recently. Apparently she and Vice have a running gag centered on "kung sino ang tunay na babae sa amin!"
She quickly added, "Parang na-realize ko, siya 'yung nanalo."
For his part, Vice said, "Sobrang bonded na kaming dalawa… Baklaan na naman tayo nang umaatikabo. At sana rin matuloy ka rito sa 'Showtime,' welcome back! At sana rin matuloy ang concert natin. I love you!"
