MANILA, JANUARY 29, 2011 (MALAYA) THE University of Sto. Tomas Medicine Class of 1961 is also the "Golden Class" of the Quadricentennial of the university.
For almost a whole year of discussions here in Manila, visits to possible sites of the reunion activities, and consultations with the overseas coordinators, the planning and coordinating group (of Dr. Marina Yulo-Bingas, Dr. Divina Gracia Rualo-Pasigan, Dr. Manuel Madayag, Dr. Socorro Alejandrino and Dr. Miguel Noche Jr.) has successfully put all the details together to make their week-long celebration memorable and enjoyable.
The final program for the class's grand reunion includes a welcome reception at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club (featuring an art exhibit, a video presentation, and a sumptuous "merienda" ); the celebration of the Holy Mass; the recognition of their outstanding classmates; a Grand Ball at the Shangri-la Hotel in Makati; a trip to Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas; a Grand Thomasian Family Day; a Barrio Fiesta at the residence of Drs. Ely and Esma de Leon-Medina; and a trip to El Nido in Palawan.
Another feature of the Grand Reunion activities was an exhibition of the art talents of some members of the 1961 medical class.
Everyone of the classmates who attended the week-long celebration felt nostalgia and with every hug and embrace they received from their former classmates, in their minds they were glad that "they were there".
Most of what the members of the Golden Medical Class of 1961 are today, they owe to their beloved UST.
These Thomasians are indeed proud of have been brought up and molded by the Univerisity of Sto. Tomas!
