VIC TO SON OYO: BEST WISHES; REPRISES TV ROLE IN 'SI AGIMAT'

MANILA, DECEMBER 9, 2010 (STAR) FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo - Even if they say that father (or mother) knows best, Vic Sotto is keeping his hands off on his son Oyo Boy Sotto who's marrying Kristine Hermosa at an undisclosed venue on 1-11-11.
"I can only wish them the best," Vic told Funfare in a one-on-one before the presscon of Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote, the 2010 Metro Filmfest entry in which he co-stars with Bong Revilla who is also co-producing with Vic, GMA Films, OctoArts Films and APT Productions. "I will pray for them para maganda ang kanilang magiging pamilya, maayos at maraming anak. The more children they have, the merrier."
Asked what tips he could give Oyo and Kristine, based on his experience (one failed marriage to Dina Bonnevie, Oyo's mom, and two love sons from previous relationships), Vic admitted that he's not a good marriage counselor (obvious ba?).
"Basta, I'm not the type who would meddle in their marriage. But I'm just around if they need my advice, kung kailangan nila ng tulong ko. Hindi ko style ang magbigay ng unsolicited advice. I'd rather leave Oyo alone; hahayaan kong siya mismo ang dumiskarte. He and Kristine are already of age. Experience is still the best teacher. When they live together, they will find out kung anong diskarte ang dapat gawin. They should know that there's no such thing as a perfect marriage. The important thing is compromise, compromise, compromise!"
Told that Oyo is beating him in the marriage "race" (as did his and Dina's daughter Danica Sotto who got married to Mark Pingris three years ago), Vic laughed.
"Okay lang. Sabi ko nga, eh, parati akong nasa huli lang. Sila na, una na silang lahat. Basta ako, sagot ko na 'yung huli."
Since he has, even if he didn't want to confirm it, broken up with Pia Guanio, his girlfriend of seven years, Vic has become a bachelor again who may be a member like Pres. Noynoy "P-Noy" Aquino of SMP (Samahang Malamig ang Pasko). Will it be blue Christmas for Vic this year?
"As usual, I will spend it with family."
Pressed on to reveal the truth about him and Pia, Vic simply smiled.
"We're good. There's nothing important to talk about. We've already said what is there to say. If there's a new development, we will announce it."
But he mentioned in passing that Pia is going abroad with her family after Christmas.
Is he going with them?
"No," said Vic, "hindi ako nakakuha ng visa."
To where?
"I'm not at liberty na sabihin kung saan."
Meanwhile, Vic is preoccupied with the promo for Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote which is predicted to top the Metrofest since it combines the box-office power of the two perennial filmfest top-grossers.
Besides being reputed to be lady-killers, what do Vic and Bong have in common?
"We are both workaholic," Vic qualified. "We have become closer since we started shooting the movie. Dati-rati, hanggang bati-batian lang kami. When we met, we would tell each other, 'Gawa tayo ng pelikula together.' Kumbaga, chika-chika lang. Now, it's not just chika-chika anymore. We are both serious workers. Maganda ang bonding naming dalawa."
