1. James Yap-Kris Aquino annulment

The annulment case was much publicized – to the point that James' camp filed a gag order against his estranged wife. He also filed for joint custody of their son Baby James. The couple, after months of estrangement, is at peace and is said to be friends now.

2. Willie Revillame's TV5 transfer

With the axing of "Wowowee" on ABS-CBN, "Willing Willie" was born but on TV5. Willie asked for his freedom from ABS-CBN where he is under contract until 2011. He rescinded his contract upon learning there will be no more "Wowowee." Prior to this, he was suspended by management because of his live outburst against host Jobert Sucaldito.

To date, Willie is battling the cases filed by ABS-CBN, the most recent of which is the copyright infringement case. According to the Kapamilya Network, "Willing Willie" is a copycat of "Wowowee."

With "Willing Willie," TV5 has started to shake up the two giant networks' programming. Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad (President Noynoy Aquino's ex-girlfriend) also entered as Willie's co-host.

3. Pinoy Pride

Charice, our very own international singing sensation, made it on the hit American musical series "Glee," as Sunshine Corazon, a rival of the show's lead Lea Michele's Rachel Berry.

Venus Raj emerged as the 2010 4th runner-up Miss Universe. Her "major-major" answer became a hit and became an added word to popular lingo.

Manny Pacquiao changed boxing history with his victory over Antonio Margarito. He won his eighth title in eight different divisions. He is by far the only boxing champ with that record.

Our independent films continue to make noise abroad. Some of the winning pieces are Brillante Mendoza's "Lola," winning the Grand Knight Award at the 27th Miami International Film Festival and Best Film at the 8th Rome Asian Film Festival.

Chito Roño's "Emir" won the Youssef Chahine Prize at 34th Cairo Filmfest. Mark Meily's "Donor" won Best Actress for lead Meryll Soriano and Best Picture at the 37th Brussels International Independent Film Festival. Ralston Jover's "Bakal Boys" won Best Film at the 16th Lyons Asian Film Festival.

Adolf Alix Jr.'s "Chassis" became the first Pinoy film to be nominated at the 25th Mar del Plata International Film Festival in Argentina.

4. Showbiz wars

So many celebrities got messed up in star-powered feuds. From the Barretto sisters rivalry between Claudine and Gretchen involving their respective TV shows aired on the same time slot, to the controversial walk-out by Gretchen during a presscon as she avoided questions about her sister, Claudine questions, only to end up making a bigger scene in the end.

And then came the "Twitter Wars." Claudine vs Angelica Panganiban, Angelica vs Gretchen, Pokwang vs Cristy Fermin, Chokoleit vs Cristy, and the latest Cristine Reyes vs Sarah Geronimo.

Claudine claimed Angelica had been spreading rumors that she was having an affair with Derek Ramsay's friend, Martin Castro. The issue between the two died only after Star Magic and GMA (management of Angelica and Claudine, respectively) intervened.

Angelica was said to have been pissed off by Gretchen's flirty ways with "Magkaribal" co-star Derek Ramsay (the former's boyfriend) and lambasted Greta on Twitter. The two patched things up eventually, with Angelica saying sorry first. It helped that the two are co-starring soon in an upcoming teleserye.

Cristy Fermin was lambasted by Pokwang and Chokoleit.

Cristine Reyes shocked Twitterworld with her angry tweets Dec. 12 pertaining to Sarah Geronimo. Rayver Cruz, who assumed the responsibility for Cristine's outburst, was said to be the reason behind the Cristine-Sarah feud. Cristine apologized a week later and said that they will settle things in private.

The feisty Annabelle Rama also had her share of Twitter war. She fought Angeli Valenciano, Heart Evangelista, and Bianca King. Annabelle got offended by Angeli's advice to Ruffa about an alleged nose job; while Heart slid to Annabelle's bad side when Heart and her mother decided not to renew a management contract with her. Bianca had a so-called misunderstanding with Annabelle with the appearance of Richard Gutierrez on her debut directorial video.

Mariel Rodriguez had her share of showbiz rifts with Toni Gonzaga (whom she allegedly called "du-ling"), KC Concepcion, Anne Curtis, Luis Manzano, but Mariel didn't assume responsibility and claimed she didn't have any issue with anyone at all.

Not to be missed is Marian Rivera's reported bullying of Bela Padilla. Marian's "harsh" confrontation towards Bela during their show "Endless Love's" taping was allegedly caused by jealousy over Dingdong Dantes, Marian's boyfriend. GMA officials settled the feud between the two parties in a closed-door meeting.

5. P-Noy's controversial lovelife\ After winning the presidency, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino and Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, a happy couple during the 2010 election's campaign, called it quits. P-Noy publicly appealed to spare him some privacy particularly with his lovelife.

Since the breakup, P-Noy has been linked with his stylist Liz Uy, TV5 reporter Patricia Anne Roque, and stockbroker Len Lopez.

The President admitted going out with Uy, while his sister Kris revealed he was dating Lopez.

6. John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao's interlock issue

Tagged as the most malicious rumor hurled against any showbiz personality in history, the interlock issue of showbiz sweethearts John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao spread like raging fire in print, TV, radio, social networking sites, and even reached other parts of the world.

The two were said to have been rushed to an unnamed hospital because their genitals were locked during intercourse.

7. The Robin Padilla-Mariel Rodriguez whirlwind romance

With the suspension of Willie Revillame on the now defunct "Wowowee," action star Robin Padilla was asked to take over as the show's main man. This was where the whirlwind romance between Robin and "Wowowee" co-host Mariel Rodriguez started.

The two went to India and secretly got married. Prior, a fake wedding veiled in Ibaloi rites surfaced and displeased many. But according to the couple, it was all "part of their upcoming show."

After admitting they got married, Robin and Mariel flew again to India to shoot a movie with Robin's daughter Queenie and Ejay Falcon.

8. Shifters

With the entrance of TV5, shifters were abound. The likes of Willie Revillame (from GMA-7 to TV5), Mo Twister (from ABS-CBN to TV5), Ruffa Gutierrez (from ABS-CBN to TV5).

Cesar Montano also transferred from ABS-CBN to GMA-7, while "Starstruck 4" winner Jewel Mische is the newest Kapamilya.
