MANILA, DECEMBER 24, 2010 (BULLETIN) By ROWENA JOY A. SANCHEZ - Kris Aquino's recent admission that her brother, President Noynoy Aquino had introduced his new date to their family did not have his permission.
"She did not have my permission... Tutal iba kino-quote mo, sila na lang po tanungin niyo. As you know that is a topic that I have reserved for my private life," maintained the president in a forum held on Dec. 21.
Despite her promise to keep her lips sealed on her bachelor brother's much-followed love life, Kris divulged on Dec. 20 that she and her other sisters already met Len Lopez, a stockbroker, last Dec. 19. The tactless TV host-actress was even confident that her elder sibling would not be furious at her for publicizing a new development in his personal life.
"I was so impressed [with Len]. And ito I'm sure hindi magagalit si Noy, ang payat, my God! Talagang kasing payat ni Kim Chiu and very elegant," gushed Kris in her interview with Ted Failon in his radio morning show on DZMM.
Several days after rumors spawned that things did not work out between him and celebrity stylist Liz Uy, PNoy was spotted eating out with Len at Powerplant Mall. Asked if Liz, who's also a close friend of Kris, remains as his stylist, the president told "24 Oras" on Dec. 21 via text message, "It's Paul Cabral and JC Buendia who assist me." Liz, meanwhile, is consistent in keeping silent on the whole issue.
Although he leaves his love life up to God ("If it comes, thank you. If it doesn't come, hopefully, He'll fill me up with something else," he said), PNoy admitted that the longing to find "The One" sometimes hits him, too.
"May mga araw, aaminin ko na sa inyo, tuksong-tukso na rin ako na, 'Di ba ako puwedeng makahanap ng lugar na nasa isang bulubundukin at dun na lang ako at mahanap ko na rin ang para sa akin?' Pero meron pa akong obligasyon na dapat tapusin," he related.
And if he does find "The One," the 50-year-old chief executive said he will only settle down when his term ends in 2016.
PNoy also has his own share of memorable meetings with "aggressive" women.
In the same forum, he recalled some encounters which elicited laughs among the press in attendance:
"They used to grab the tail of the shirt, then the shirts became extra large. They started out as small.
"Pero 'yung bagong version, they grab me by the buttons eh. It happened once and medyo nanggigigil ho talaga. I think it was in Mindoro. She kept on tagging on it. [Naisip ko] ano kayang balak nito dahil hindi naman ho niya ko kinukuwelyuhan. Pero sabi niya, 'President Noy! President Noy!' It was about two minutes of that, and I think I finally asked her, 'Ma'am meron pa ho akong pupuntahang dalawang lakad tapos ho nito. Marami hong nagagalit pag gusutin 'yung ating polo.'
