MANILA, DECEMBER 24, 2010 (BULLETIN) By JULLIE Y. DAZA – It was communicated to me by Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, minutes before President Aquino's arrival at Sofitel Hotel, that to this day, the presidential convoy has had no reason to go back on its "no wang-wang" rule. When the party arrived moments later, almost too quietly, it would have been easy to miss them because there was no fanfare preceding them, no ear-splitting wang-wang, just three motorcycles swiftly gliding by as two black SUVs disgorged their passengers, and out of the limo behind them emerged the President.
He did not arrive by the main entrance but through a side door, and as Mr. Coloma pointed out, "Most of the time he rides in an SUV."
But as soon as he stepped on the red carpet, he was up for grabs. For some reason, his bodyguards allowed women coming out of nowhere – somehow they had smelled him – to hostage him. As he was later to admit at the "Bulong Pulungan" Christmas party, it's all in a day's work.
Except that whereas during the election campaign women pulled his shirt tails and wrenched his fingers this way and that, "now they're pulling me from the front, pulling at the buttons" on his shirt. If the bachelor President knows his Freud, that's a sexual innuendo, if not a sexual come-on.
