MANILA, NOVEMBER 6, 2010 (STAR) FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo - As earlier reported, 13 candidates didn't arrive in Sanya, China, for the 2010 Miss International contest and only 68 are competing for the crown on coronation night set for this Sunday, Nov. 7.
A few issues ago, Funfare mentioned that the Philippines is the only Asian country with not just one but four Misses International — Gemma Cruz (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979) and Precious Lara Quigaman (2005).
Will 2010 Bb. Pilipinas-International Krista Kleiner be the fifth Pinay Miss International?
"The fact that we have four Miss International winners shows that Filipinas are beautiful and smart," said Krista with confidence before she flew to China well-prepared. She was trained by past Binibinis (including 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz) on grace and poise, and how to act during the contest especially during unguarded moments when the girls are judged without their knowing it. "I brushed up on things Chinese," added Krista who is beauty and brains combined.
She has also a knack for stealing scenes without being a show-off, such as when she carried a fan and a nunchaku while dressed in Filipiniana during the National Costume Parade, and proceeded to demonstrate her martial arts skill.

Katherine Jackson will talk about the death of her son | Zoom CHICAGO (AP) — Katherine Jackson will discuss the death of her son, Michael Jackson, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Harpo Productions recently said that Winfrey's interview with Jackson's mother will air Nov. 8 in The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, and his three children will also appear during a backyard visit taped for the episode.
Oprah and Katherine filmed the interview at the family's home in California. The Chicago-based production company says Katherine talks about the day her son died and reflects on his life as a childhood star.
Michael died unexpectedly in June 2009. He gave an interview to Oprah in 1993 in which he first disclosed suffering from the skin condition vitiligo.
