MANILA, OCTOBER 26, 2010 (MALAYA) By Mario Bautista ('It's just a case of them drifting apart from each other. – June Torrejon, Pia Guanio's manager')
AS Annabelle Rama turns a year older on October 31, she'll hold a fashion-variety show, "Spotlight," with all her talents under Royale Artists Management at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Oct. 28, 8 p.m.
At its presscon, we noticed that the invitation had Heart Evangelista's name on it but this was erased. The reason for this was revealed when Annabelle was asked who among her wards is her favorite.
"Si JC De Vera kasi very professional siya. Never ako binigyan ng sakit ng ulo. Nakikinig talaga sa manager at di umiistambay kunsaan-saan na kasama ng mga pokpok kaya umaasenso ang buhay niya. May bago siyang bahay, tatlo ang kotse niya. Pero yung alaga kong ingrata, kakarmahin yan. Walang utang naloob. Nang mapunta siya sa'kin 3 years na siyang laos. Wala siyang project. Ang nakuha kong contract for her sa GMA, never niyang natikman sa kabilang istasyon. Ipinareha ko siya sa anak ko (Richard Gutierrez) at bumongga uli ang career niya. Akala ko, maa-appreciate niya 'yun. Nung makita ng nanay niya how much she's earning, nanghinayang sa komisyong binibigay sa'kin. Siya na lang daw ang magma-manage at sayang ang pera. 'Yang talent na 'yan na nagwalanghiya sa'kin, sinusumpa ko, malalaos siya uli."
Annabelle says she'll just concentrate on talent management from now on. "Ayoko ng magbenta ng alahas. Lagi akong nasu-swindle. Now, I have 29 talents, ang pinakabago sina Jon Hall, Danita Paner, Paulo Paraiso, Jinkee Paquiao, and Pops Fernandez. Mukha akong pera, kaya as a manager, talagang inihahanap ko ng trabaho ang talents ko para kumita rin ako. Sa 'Spotlight,' maglalabas din ako ng glossy magazine showing all my talents, edited by my son Raymond, na ipapamigay ko sa lahat ng ad agencies para kunin nila mga alaga ko for endorsements. Special guest singers sa 'Spotlight' sina Ogie Alcasid, Lovi Poe, Anthony Castelo and Malu Barry."

Viva Films hosted a victory party for the success of "Petrang Kabayo." Vice Ganda's PR manager Ogie Diaz announced it earned P107 million at the tills in its first week. Typhoon Juan's rains didn't stop people from trooping to the theatres. Outgoing MTRCB Chair Consoliza La Guardia showed up and even gave Vice a horse figurine to show that everything is now okay between them. But the film's director, Wenn Deramas, is in a fighting mood. Writer Jobert Sucaldito wrote the film was a flop and Wenn answered him. Jobert then challenged Wenn in his column to a fistfight. What can Wenn say about this?
"Ever since ganyan na siya sa'kin. Okay lang sa'kin na sabihin mong pangit ang pelikula ko, pero ang pamalita mong flop kahit hindi naman, talagang kailangan na ng suntukan diyan. Sobra na siya. Ni hindi kami magkakilala. We've never been formally introduced.

We saw Pia Guanio's manager, June Torrejon, at the blowout of "Petrang Kabayo" and we asked her if it's true her ward has indeed broken up with Vic Sotto. "Yes, wala na sila," she admitted.
Is there a third party involved?
"None. It's just a case of them drifting apart from each other. Pia is moving on."

Did Jennylyn Mercado forbid Patrick Garcia to be part of her new soap, "Little Star," that starts this Monday? "No, hindi ko siya pinagbawalan at all," she says. "But we talked about it and we agreed na mas mabuting hindi kami sabay magtrabaho para kung busy ako, I can leave our son Jazz with him kasi siya ngayon ang hatid-sundo sa bata sa school."
How about her refusal to use Patrick's surname for Jazz? "Alam nyo, it's not an issue at all with us. Ni hindi namin napag-uusapan 'yan, kaya wag nyo nang gawaan ng issue. Basta as of now, masaya kaming maayos na ang lahat with his family, my family. Maging masaya na rin sana kayo for us."
She's happy to be directed by Maryo de los Reyes in "Little Star" where she plays a simple lass who takes care of a baby boy that she finds during a shipwreck at sea. It turns out the boy is the love son of a big movie star, Lovi Poe, who later tries to take the boy away from Jen. The show introduces a talented new child singer-actor, Nikki Castro, 6 years old, whose real name is Arthur Nixon Castro. Hopefully, he will be as popular as Jillian Ward who really gained fame as Trudis Liit and also makes "Little Star" a toprater in GMA's "Haponalo" (former "Dramarama sa Hapon").

Balikbayan actor Victor Aliwalas had no choice but to address the issue about him and Willie Revillame's ex-wife, Liz Almoro, when the press grilled him about it.
"We met in Laoag last February when we were invited as judges in a beauty contest," he says. "We became good friends and we're now exclusively dating." Isn't she older than him? "She's 33 and I'm 27, but there's no problem about the slight age difference at all." How is Liz's son with Willie? "We get along fine."
Has he met Willie? "Not personally, but I got to see him in a recent Red Cross affair that I attended with Liz. But he was very far from us so there's no chance na magbatian sila. If ever I'm introduced to him, I'm willing to shake his hand for peace and goodwill."
He's happy to be in the cast of GMA-7's new primetime show, "Beauty Queen." "I play the role of Greg Almario, the best friend of TJ Trinidad. This is my second soap with Iza Calzado. We were also together in 'Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit'."
