DINA BONNEVIE DOESN'T MEDDLE IN HER KIDS' LOVE AFFAIRS

DOES Rico Blanco, former RiverMaya vocalist who now tries acting in "Imortal," have an axe to grind against rumored ex-girlfriend KC Concepcion? When asked if he'd like to do a show with KC someday, his reply was an emphatic "I'm not interested" that he repeated several times.
Rico plays the pivotal role of Lucas in "Imortal." He has acted in an indie film before, "Nasaan si Francis?" with Epy Quizon, but this is his first TV soap. His former manager with RiverMaya, Chito Rono, is directing "Imortal" and revealed that it's Rico's dream to be an actor since way back when.
Rico would be good in character roles. He's already in his 30s and although he looks good, he's really not leading man material.
About the observation that "Imortal" is copied from the "Twilight" series, its makers say that they've long been planning to do a series on "aswang" at ABS-CBN, then the "Twilight" project came on. They add that the story of "Imortal" is very different from that of "Twilight," although both are about vampires and werewolves. Actually, "Imortal" is also reminiscent of the "Underworld" series with Kate Beckinsdale, which is also about the love story between a vampire and a werewolf.

Dina Bonnevie plays Arci Munoz' mom in TV5's first "kiligserye," "My Driver, Sweet Lover," which topbills JC De Vera and Danita Paner.
"I see myself in Arci," says Dina. "Puedeng bida-kontrabida. Ang dami na ngang nagsabing magkamukha kami at nagkasundo agad kami sa taping kaya marami kaming ginagawa na wala na sa script pero approved pa rin ng director namin, si Eric Quizon."
Why did she ask her character as Malena in her last show, "May Bukas Pa," to be killed?
"That's a misconception. I was told papatayin na lang ang role ko kasi I didn't want to agree sa ending na gusto nila, which is for me to kill Santino. Why would I kill the boy, who's so well loved? I told them I don't want to end my career as a villain killing a harmless boy. Ang suggestion ko is for them to make Santino a 'Miracle Boy' na parang Christ-like character who'd make the whole town and all the people in it change for the better as the show's title is 'May Bukas Pa.' But they didn't like a more spiritual and Bible-based ending and they opted for one na walang impact when the show should've had a more grandiose conclusion."
How is she after her stroke?
"It was not really a stroke but a mild schemic attack. After two days in the hospital, pinatawag na agad ako ng ABS-CBN and asked me to tape. I was under stress because of my work sa office and the tapings pa. I was put on steroids because of my asthma so I gained weight dahil sa manas. As soon as I stopped the steroids, lumiit uli ako. Then I got to talk to Tita Annabelle Rama and she said interested ba ko to work with TV5? Sabi ko 'yes,' so I guested first in 'Face to Face' then now, heto, kasama ako sa 'My Driver Sweet Lover.' Ang ganda ng role ko as someone who's malandi, mukhang pera pero tanga kaya all her schemes backfire on her. I'm paired here with Eric Quizon, Richard Gomez and also Tom Rodriguez."
How's the wedding of Oyo Sotto and Kristine Hermosa coming along?
"I'm not allowed to talk about it. Alam ko lang, sa January, but they won't tell me the exact date. Sabi ko, paano 'yung gown ko, anong motif? Sila na raw bahala. Sabi ko, Oyo, if I don't like my gown, I won't attend your wedding."
She's in good terms with Marc Pingris, the hubby of her daughter Danica. "Danica is really lucky with him as he's so caring. Minsan nga, kapag nagtataray si Danica, kay Marc ako kampi. He was even the one who brought me to the hospital nung magka-attack ako."
How about Kristine?
"People tell me, why her? Maldita raw. But in fairness to her, wala siyang pinapakitang masama sa akin and I can see maalaga siya kay Oyo. Besides, hindi ako nakikialam sa love affairs ng mga anak ko. I trust their judgment in choosing the right partner."

We ask Kim Chiu how stories linking her and Gerald Anderson to other stars like Bea Alonzo and Jason Abalos might affect their film at the tills, "Till My Heartaches End."
"I hope people just forget all the chismis and bad intrigues and judge the film by its own merits," says Kim. "Kasi we gave it our all, our 100%, and I'm just very proud that we got to do this movie."
The film is written and directed by Jose Javier Reyes. "I got a call from Star Cinema last Sept. 15 asking me if I'm busy and if I could do this Kim-Gerald film. I said yes as I believe hinog na sila for mature roles. But may playdate na raw, October 27. So I said, okay, send me the script. Wala pa raw script, so in two days, I was able to write a script that is inspired by '500 Days of Summer' about young love, pero malayong-malayo na roon. Gerald is anak sa labas, maraming hang-ups. Kim is a nursing graduate about to take the board, no boyfriend since birth. The story is told from the point of view of their friends: Martin del Rosario and Enrique Gil, Cacai Bautista, Manny Chua and Eda Nolan. It's the journey of two people in love and where it's going. I presented it to Star Cinema and they said go. O heto, matatapos na kami ng shoot and I must say maraming gugulatin sina Kim at Gerald dito as they portray very mature roles. Both are very competent in it. Very different from the soap opera acting style on TV that they're used to. As for the 'Kimerald' fans who threaten to harm Gerald and Kim, I'm just wondering bakit ganun sila. Why hurt them?"

Danita Paner is thankful to TV5 for giving her the lead role opposite JC De Vera in their first "kiligserye," "My Driver Sweet Lover," that starts airing on Oct. 25, 8:30 p.m. along with Willie Revillame's new show that starts at 6:30. "This is my biggest break so far," she says. "When I guested in JC's '5 Star Specials,' they saw raw na we have good chemistry so heto, kami na ang magkapareha in 'My Driver Sweet Lover.' I feel so blessed as I consider myself still a neophyte in acting but they trusted me with this important role na."
How's she and her mom, Daisy Romualdez, with whom she was at odds before?
"Okay na kami kasi nag-mature na rin ako at 21. Before kasi, iba gusto niya, iba gusto ko, so we often clashed."
Is it true her former boyfriend, vocalist Kean Cipriano, who's now into acting and is also with TV5, the reason of their conflict?
"No, walang kinalaman si Kean dun. Okay na rin kami ni Kean. Magkatrabaho kami sa 'PO5' on Sundays. Pati nga si Arci Munoz na naging ka-on din niya, she now plays my stepsister in 'My Driver Sweet Lover.' Pareho rin kami ng manager, si Tita Annabelle Rama, at okay kaming lahat. So no problem."
Is it true she and JC are now playing beautiful music on the set of their show?
"Naging magkasundo kami agad, but we're still getting to know each other as friends. I admire his discipline. He's really a great actor kaya masarap kaeksena and grabe ang devotion niya sa gym kaya naman ganyan kaganda ang abs niya."
