ADVICE TO RABID FANS: GET A LIFE / IZA CALZADO'S CAREER ON THE ROLL

IZA Calzado's career is really on a roll. She's seen on TV as co-host of "Sweet Life" on Q Channel 11 daily and is also in "The Beauty Queen," the new GMA-7 primetime soap that starts today.
On the big screen, she plays the pivotal role of the mysterious Black Lady in Regal's pre-Halloween offering, "White House," that opens on Wednesday.
"I had to beg off doing 'Super Inday' with Marian Rivera kasi sobrang dami na ang ginagawa ko, which is sayang kasi maganda sanang may entry ako sa December filmfest."
She's happy to be reunited with Direk Topel Lee in "White House." "Two horror films I did with him before were both hits, 'Shake, Rattle & Roll 9' and 'Ouija.' If good things come in threes, I'm positive magiging blockbuster din itong third horror flick namin as I'd dare say that 'White House' is the scariest film we've done."
In "Beauty Queen," she agrees to don a two-piece swimsuit for the first time along with co-stars Katrina Halili, a two-time FHM number one winner, and Maggie Wilson, a former Bb. Pilipinas-World. What does she think is her chances against them? "First time ko mag-skimpy bikini and I did it kasi kailangan sa role namin as beauty pageant contestants. Also, I did it kasi I felt na kaya ko naman dahil whatever body I have now, pinaghirapan ko naman ng husto through diligent workouts and dieting. Pero kayo na magsabi kung kaya ko bang makipagsabayan kina Katrina and Maggie whose sexiness you don't question anymore. Siguro naman, hindi rin ako mapapahiya."

Gerald Anderson broke down at the presscon of "Till My Heartaches End" when questioned if he ever asked Kim Chiu "Mahal mo ba ako?" the way his character, Paolo, asked Kim's character, Agnes, in their new movie.
"In four years, we had a special relationship, very happy moments together," he said, crying at this point. "Ang masakit du'n, ang dami kong binigay na problema sa kanya, heartaches, pero tinanggap pa rin niya ako. Hindi ko mapapantayan ang mga ginawa niya para sa akin. Tinanggap pa rin niya ako. Ang ayoko sa lahat, 'yung makasakit ako ng tao.
"I want to be a good role model kasi noong Ondoy, naging hero ako sa paningin ng mga tao. Pero tao rin ako, nagkakamali din ako. I'll lie if I say 'di ako nasasaktan na may fans na nag-back out sa'kin at ayaw na akong suportahan. I got plenty of hate mail. Pati ang pamilya ko nadadamay. May tumatawag sa nanay ko at sabi papatayin ang anak niya. Ewan ko kung bakit umabot sa ganun."
He then stood up and left the stage where the film's stars were seated during the open forum. It was later announced that he wouldn't be returning and that doctors were treating him as he was hyperventilating. How does Kim feel about all this?
"I want to tell everyone na sana maging okay na ang lahat, kasi ako, okay ako," she was directing her answer to the fans of her love team with Gerald who were there at the presscon. "May naririnig akong papatayin si Bea Alonzo, sasabuyan ng asido. Sana, tanggapin na lang natin kung anong nangyari at intindihin na lang nilang may personal din kaming buhay. Alam ko na ang fans ko, nasasaktan sila for me. Nahahati sila and I can't blame them for their opinion. Siempre, I'm happy nakasuporta sila sa'kin, pero sana, tama na ang gulo, hindi na maganda ang nangyayari."
These fans who meddle with the personal affairs of their favorite stars obviously have very small minds by being very possessive. All we can tell them is: have a life. The world doesn't revolve around your idols. Extreme fan mentality can be dangerous for your sanity.

ABS-CBN reportedly has scrapped all plans to give Robin Padilla and wife Mariel Rodriguez their own show. First, it was announced they don't have any film project for Robin after he rejected the movie he started with Toni Gonzaga. Now, the sitcom he's supposed to do with Mariel has also been shelved. They must have realized that the Robin-Mariel affair does not really produce the kilig that most showbiz love birds induce in the public but only instead generate some negative energy as people perceive they've been taken for a ride with Robin and Mariel supposedly having an Ibaloi wedding, a Christian wedding and also an alleged wedding at the Taj Mahal in India. As we've said before, it's a case of starting a marriage on the wrong foot. The last we heard, ABS-CBN is now preparing a show for Robin with Bea Alonzo as leading lady. This will leave Mariel out in the cold, as she doesn't have a single show at all. And with all the conflicts she's allegedly having with the likes of Toni, KC Concepcion, Luis Manzano and Anne Curtis, looks like it will take quite a while before she bounces back into circulation. Well, since she has thrown all caution to the winds and is happy now just being plain Mrs. Robin Padilla, who cares?

Angel Locsin's "Imortal" was aired without any presscon so they held one last Oct. 11 as a thanksgiving presscon because the show initially rated well even if it was shown without much promotion.
"I'm really thankful to all those who watched us even if the show was aired suddenly," says Angel. "At first, I was nervous as I don't really know how viewers would react to the love affair between a werewolf and a vampire. Nakahinga kaming lahat ng maluwag when it did well at sana, magtuloy-tuloy ang suporta sa'min nationwide."
In her first serial for ABS-CBN, "Lobo," she got nominated as best actress in the international Emmy Awards. What are her chances of being nominated again this time for "Imortal"?
"Hindi naman talaga ko nage-expect, but of course, I welcome the honor. Sa 'Lobo,' nagulat ako sa nomination so I don't know, basta I'm just doing my best to make sure na maging maayos din ang trabaho ko in 'Imortal.' What's more important for me is nagugustuhan ng viewers ang acting ko and so far, maganda na ang feedback that I get. Pero hindi lang ako kundi maging ang katambal kong si John Lloyd Cruz, ang co-stars namin, our directors and the staff, all of us work hard to make sure bawat episode ng 'Imortal' is great, pati special effects and the action scenes na ako mismo ang gumagawa ng lahat ng stunts ko."
With them in "Imortal" are Maricar Reyes as Samantha, Rico Blanco as Lucas, Nina Dolino as Charice, plus Jomari Yllana, Jaime Fabregas, Lara Quigaman, Jake Roxas, Johnny Revilla and Vivian Velez.
Is Angel aware that her fans and those of Glaiza de Castro are making them fight each other as "Imortal" is up against Glaiza's "Grazilda"?
"I was told na pati sa internet, we're pitted against each other. Sana tigilan na 'yan dahil gusto ko si Glaiza. Nakatrabaho ko siya noon sa 'Asian Treasures' ng GMA and we're okay. Kaya nga sabi ko sa kanya, basta kami, 'wag padadala at 'wag na lang magpaapekto sa mga kantiyawan."

Is it true that Nadine Samonte has broken up with her "lechon magnate" boyfriend, Emerson Chua? How sad if this were true since they've been going steady for five years now and had already planned to tie the knot by next year. We asked Nadine about it directly but she won't talk.
Even people from GMA Artist Center who help manage her career are in the dark about the real score. As of now, all they can say is that after Nadine has wrapped up work for "Endless Love," which is ending this week with a real heartbreaking finale, Nadine plans to have a long vacation in Hawaii to get away from it all.
